    LG 38GL950G - 3840x1600/G-Sync/144Hz

Those temps are with the back of the monitor in place (so closed) or with it removed? i find them very low to have it closed...with it closed, i topped at 95º and turned it off as I was afraid of damaging it...With it open i topped at 88º (OC@160hz+HDR running for 4h) I like your idea of the...

    LG 38GL950G - 3840x1600/G-Sync/144Hz

Hey @harrispilton I know its been months since you did this DYI mod of the gsync fan, but i'm trying to achieve something similar with my GL950 now and I was wondering about the fan connectors u used (DF14-4S-1.25C from mouser) did you also had to buy the DF14-3032SCF pins or did the connectors...

    LG 38GL950G - 3840x1600/G-Sync/144Hz

Also question: is this the fan header for the Gsync fan? https://www.aquatuning.es/cables/ventiladores-cables-adaptadores/20542/phobya-pwm-adapter-for-vga if so we could swap it for a 75mm fan with 4pin header say from a vga replacement or a laptop cpu fan, or the noctuas...

    LG 38GL950G - 3840x1600/G-Sync/144Hz

Ok, but would the blower fan (12v) run at lower speed? Or wouldn’t even kick in? Or would it burn? I don’t wanna either Damage the fan or the header...is it safe to try it?

    LG 38GL950G - 3840x1600/G-Sync/144Hz

Ok, I'm starting to think of another approach. After 5min of the blower fan at max speed (in the AGING screen) the DIE temp dropped below 55ºc, thats even lower than my factory temps: so like out of the box, the gsync fan connected and the monitor closed (it topped at 65ºc). Question: Would the...

    LG 38GL950G - 3840x1600/G-Sync/144Hz

Ok, you are right, activating the AGING screen makes the blower fan to come on at full speed. The weird thing is it never came on, not even when the DIE was at 98º with the backplate on (monitor closed)...so thats why i thought, it was faulty... maybe i have an old revision and they forgot to...

    LG 38GL950G - 3840x1600/G-Sync/144Hz

Ok so finally i decided to open my GL and take a deeper look. i disconnected the gsync fan, and tried it open with the back plate of the monitor removed so it could breath. Then i putted the back plate on and closed it. This is what i found: 1- for some reason, the side fan never turns on, not...

    LG 38GL950G - 3840x1600/G-Sync/144Hz

hey, did you manage to get your 38GN950? How are you liking it compared to the GL version? OOTB I noticed a huge difference in black levels (the GN crushed low black levels and there was no way to make it better either with black stabilizer or gamma) And the other issue for me was the lack of...

    LG 38GL950G - 3840x1600/G-Sync/144Hz

i can tell you now, 10 months since i got the monitor and the fan has become close to impossible to bear in the same room, i even hear it from the next room, loud and high-pitched, its in my head all day long. Just to make sure about this, i ordered a brand new GL 5 days ago and the hissing in...

    LG 38GL950G - 3840x1600/G-Sync/144Hz

What if I just unplug the Gsync fan, and try it? Does it really get so hot that we need a fan in it? wouldnt it be "safe" to unplug it and remove the red mesh under the top vents to make some room for hot air to come out? At this point I'm open to try everything, either way the monitor has...

    LG 38GN950-B

Another thing i noticed, the black levels are trash, if u go to lagom black level test, everything below 5 is crushed....i did not had this with my GL monitor. This is with Gamer1 profile and Gamma mode 1. If u enable Gamer2 profile, or you raise the black stabilizer beyond 50... the whole gamma...

I have exactly the same. The ghosting when the fps is lower than the max refresh rate of this panel is really painful...I did not expect that for real.

    LG 38GN950-B

Hey guys, I just got a GN, coming from a GL cuz I hate the fan noise, I’m very glad with the silent performance of this one, but, I’m surprised no one mentioned it yet, the first thing I noticed once I booted up some high paced games is the ghosting, after 15min of AC Odyssey I even felt kind of...

    LG 38GL950G - 3840x1600/G-Sync/144Hz

I know this might sound dumb or maybe it was answered before but, couldn’t we just disconnect both fans and leave them off all time? Or then the monitor wouldn’t start? Or there’s the risk of melting the Gsync module? Does it even get that hot? im at my wits end with the noise of this monitor...
