    Testing suggestions for NVMe

Would somebody be kind to suggest which test are safe and suggested (data hoarder purposes) to do on new NVMe products and for example HDD Sentinel? I have been testing new HDDs (2.5 & 3.5) with the following tests: short, extended, reinitialize + read (OR Read write + read) and I would also do...

Drooling on MBU (Literally the most embarrassing post in my life)

I have been cleaning my PC and wanted to blow the dust a bit. In the moment I did it, few larger drops (maybe 2) of saliva (1-2mm) and I assume a lot of smaller drops ended up on the MBU on the part of the image below on right side. So my questions: - Could this saliva damage the...

    SN850x 4TB (PCB Discoloration)

Recently bought a 4TB SN850x and noticed some "PCB discoloration". Checked on the internet and a lot of these don't have this at all on PCB, it looks like discoloration or some kind of a glue residue or something similar. Luckily I have found two reviews on YouTube and seems that they have...

WD Elements 14TB Shucking and Testing (Extended test too long)

Just an update. It was strange to me that short test was completed in 2:30 and not in 2:00 first time. This evening I have tested 10 different HDDs (USB, SATA, SSD, NVME) and each and every one finished the short test 100% at the mark of 2:00 and one SSD finished in 30 sec (the estimate was...

WD Elements 14TB Shucking and Testing (Extended test too long)

Bought a 14TB for "shucking", before I have "opened" the plastic case I wanted to test HDD via USB 3.0 but I am worried is the HDD alright now since I want to keep very important data on it. - Smart data was alright on WD Dashboard and HDD sentinel - Short Self-test via Sentinel was completed...

    Z490-PLUS TUF GAMING (WI-FI) + 4000Mhz RAM

Hey @Tetras thanks for your kind opinion. I know, but then it would be a downgrade from 3600 that I have right now and if it doesn't work with 4000 I will have to do a manual overclock and tweaking which I would really like to avoid. So that's why I am asking if anybody has a similar situation...

    Z490-PLUS TUF GAMING (WI-FI) + 4000Mhz RAM

    P. S. There are some small performance gains, especially with 1% low in fps and especially good performance gains going from 16 to 64GB.

I know buddy, but I can get it from somebody used for a very good price, however I am not able to return it. If it doesnt work I am stuck with it. So that's why I am asking what are the chances it will work on 4000Mhz on this board.

    Z490-PLUS TUF GAMING (WI-FI) + 4000Mhz RAM

I now have Z490+i9 10850k (4.9) with 2x8 3600 C18 Corsair I was wondering what would be the chances of 4x16 4000 C18 Corsair to work right outside of the box without problems? Of course it's not on QVL list. Does anybody have Z490 TUF with 4000 Mhz RAM or opinion? Thanks for your time.

SN850X 4TB (excessive debate over really small things)

Dear @mickyflinn, yes I am aware. This is actually an attempt to future-prof a bit, since I plan to replace my MBU+CPU+RAM in the following 1-2 years. I need high-end 4TB now and I know it will work only at 50% of speed. Once I make a replacement of other parts, I will still have a nice 4TB 4.0...

SN850X 4TB (excessive debate over really small things)

@Tetras thank you very much for your kind feedback, extremely appreciated and thank you for your time as well. The usage is going to be professional and extreme gaming, since sometimes I like lower frames and higher resolution 6-8K so i will definitely use ssd heatsink. So what do you think...

    HDD 12-16TB recommendation

So from what I have read the Elements are CMR and are usually RED. Do I have to worry regarding TLER or head parking or that the drive is made only for external usage, so it should be reliable working in desktop usage 24/7, right?

    HDD 12-16TB recommendation

Greetings, I used to buy WD Blue 7200rpm, but it is no longer produced in a larger capacity. WD Black is too loud, Red is for NAS, Purple Surveillance and Gold is Enterprise, Ultrastar is DataCenter, so it's not exactly an ideal choice and it's a strange situation. What is the current...

    Nvidia CustomDSRTool

Not possible to go above 4K if you are using 1080p TV or monitor, it's the old Nvidia limitation, that's why there is a CustomDSRTool, but it keeps deleting registry settings and that's why I am asking for a solution.
