Overclocking 2500k on Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H shows incorrect Clock

Thanks, I had that installed. I used Intelburn Test and RealTemp showed it went up to the correct speed of 4100Mhz, temp around 50C-60C on full load. Strange how Windows is showing it as 5.9Ghz though! Freaked me out for a minute, I thought it may be something to do with the Turbo...

Overclocking 2500k on Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H shows incorrect Clock

Hi, I'm overclocking an I5 2500k on a new Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H from 3.30 (multiplier x33) default speed to 4.1Ghz (x41) but when the system boots up (boots fine) it shows as 5.90Ghz in Windows 7 My Computer Properties! On my CPU meter it shows as 5900Mhz until it idles at 1593Mhz. All I...

About to buy this Intel 2500k, board and ram upgrade - any advice/recommendations?

Will the CPU and RAM be recognised automatically when I first boot it up? Not sure which settings to use! I recall with my old Q6600 and Geil RAM I had to up the memory voltages to make it boot properly?

About to buy this Intel 2500k, board and ram upgrade - any advice/recommendations?

Hi, Thanks for the advice, you're very kind. I was looking at the current bundle that has the Corsair A50 cooler, but I didn't want it to be any more louder than my current Q6600 set up which has a Freezer Pro on it, and I saw somewhere that A50 fan has no PWM sensor so I was worried it runs...

About to buy this Intel 2500k, board and ram upgrade - any advice/recommendations?

Hi all, I'm about to buy this selection of components to upgrade from my overclocked 3Ghz Q6600 existing system onto the 2500k bandwagon and I wondered if you had any comments/advice/recommendations? I want to run it about 4Gz at least without worrying too much about voltages and trial and...

Adding a 1Gbps switch to my network which has wireless router and wireless adapters

What a nightmare...! I set the 2 LAN adapters with fixed IP addresses and edited both hosts files on each PC to force the connections through the LAN adapters. The main problem seems to be with the Windows 7 Network and Sharing Centre. I finally got both PC's to use the Homegroup on the Lan...

Adding a 1Gbps switch to my network which has wireless router and wireless adapters

    Getting somewhat confused now (!) but here's the routing table from the Router: Destination Mask Gateway Metric Active 89.200.128.40 255.255.255.255 0.0.0.0 0 YES 192.168.0.0 255.255.255.0 0.0.0.0 0 YES 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 89.200.128.40 0 YES

Adding a 1Gbps switch to my network which has wireless router and wireless adapters

Hi, Thanks, just reading up on APIPA, never heard of it before. I just set the 2 Wired LAN Adapters to 169.254.0.1 and 169.254.0.2 respectively on each PC and set them to a subnet of 255.255.0.0, what would I need to do next to force the connection between them over the wired interface or is it...

Adding a 1Gbps switch to my network which has wireless router and wireless adapters

Hi thanks, more or less the same thing, forcing file transfers through the 1Gbps switch. It doesn't really tell you how to do it though? I can probably figure out how to get the LAN Adapters to have their own IP addresses, but what exactly do you put in the hosts file? Or do I add the IP...

Adding a 1Gbps switch to my network which has wireless router and wireless adapters

Hi folks, I recently switched to Sky Broadband Unlimited from Pipex since they added their LLU product to my local exchange and using my Master phone socket downstairs, I can get about 11-11.5Mbps broadband which is a huge improvement over the old 5.5Mbps with Pipex. The Sky Router though...

    Official Gigabyte DS3 Owners Thread

I still has the DS3 with my Q6600, in fact we have 2 of them! Plays all the latest games really well with GTX260 cards. Not had any problems running the CPU's at 3Ghz. I have my PCI-E set as 100. Not tried overclocking the GTX260's I don't know what they go to.

Gigabyte DS3 and Win 7 RAID Driver performance

Hi Gigabyte DS3 owners, If you are using Windows 7 and the DS3 motherboard with the Gigabyte RAID Controller (I'm using RAID 0 with 2 250GB 7200rpm HDD's), you may be interested to know that installing the Gigabyte driver for your RAID reduces performance as compared to the driver supplied...

Any new Vida GPU's coming soon???

Thanks for the advice! I just placed an order for 2 of the OcUK Value GeForce GTX 260 "Core 216 55nm" 896MB GDDR3 Dual DVI (PCI-Express), 1 for me, 1 for my son. Also, I found I had just qualified for free delivery so I am over the moon and looking forward to seeing the improvements of the...

Any new Vida GPU's coming soon???

Would a new 275 be a good upgrade from a single 8800GT 512MB? I play Crysis, Left4 Dead, COD4, Far Cry 2 etc on 1680x1050 and its been a while since a worthwhile upgrade came out. Thanks, I'd like to see a boost!
