    A few from the Lakes

All taken with a D200 and Tamron 17-55 f2.8, apart from the couple on the pier, that was taken with my Tokina 12-24. And to all you lot living over there, you lucky *******! ;) (Though I don't envy you having to put up with the constant stream of tourists.)

    Over the boardwalk

I know there's nothing you can do about it, but they'd all be infinitely better (IMO, natch. ;) ) if it wasn't for the chain-link wossname on the floor; I have an irrational hatred of that stuff, something about the man-made modernness of it always really grates with me for some reason. I like...

Are digital camera CCD sizes still not a true 6x4 ratio

Not quite. :) The Four Thirds system is a different thing to the 4:3 ratio sensors used in point and shoot cameras.

    Anyone got a Sigma 150mm F2.8 macro?(ideally nikon fit)

For easy, adjustable sharpening I've recently beeing doing this: - Stamp the visible layers onto a new layer (CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-E on windows). - Apply a ton of USM to the new layer, I use amount:500, radius:0.3, threshold:0 for full-size D200 images. - Set the sharpened layer's blending mode...

    Anyone got a Sigma 150mm F2.8 macro?(ideally nikon fit)

No, it's just rubbish. IIRC using the sharpen brush is essentially the same as just using the plain 'sharpen' filter. I find USM or Smart Sharpen far better.

    Anyone got a Sigma 150mm F2.8 macro?(ideally nikon fit)

Nononono, sorry I wasnt very clear: :) Does the D40 not let you set it up so that you can release the shutter in AF mode without the AF having locked on?

    Anyone got a Sigma 150mm F2.8 macro?(ideally nikon fit)

Does the D40 not have a menu option for overriding this? I'm fairly sure my D70 did (though I always switched to MF for macro stuff anyway).

    Anyone got a Sigma 150mm F2.8 macro?(ideally nikon fit)

I've got one manufactured in early 2006 and it doesn't have a focus mode switch, just the AF limiter. I dont think the Nikon fit version has ever had a focus mode switch.

    My New 30D

If this is true, I'm guessing you maybe didnt really need to go the whole hog for the 30D. :) If you were happy with the results and the handling of the 300D, I would have thought a 400D would be more than adequate for what you need at the moment. Admittedly, if you really get into photography...

Heh, apologies if the spider caught anyone unawares. :) Totally agree, unfortunately moving to the right to show the individual struts would have brought the town lights on the headland in the distance into the shot, so it wasn't really an option. alexisonfine: You're right the trolley...

Is the bottom of the waterfall purple in number 1? Bit of CA? Hardly matters, mind 'cos that is a gorgeous shot anyway. :)
