I suspect it's just this one dealer holding everything up. I've asked another dealer to sort it and they're hot in the case. It's still nearly two weeks with no news and no service though :-(

Agreed. My first bike was a 1000. Just use it appropriately.

This. Changing gear whilst overtaking is a distraction. If you're only on the road with it, ride the torque and enjoy the longer gears.

This. That's a small bike, slow too, particularly if you're larger. Qualifying the slow statement, it's relatively slow and will take ragging and changing gears to keep up on ride-outs due to the nature of the bike. You're better off with a 650. You'll learn on it for one, keep it for longer...

That's my understanding, direct from their Onward Mobility section. Really hard to get hold of service to determine a date to even look at it. I'll keep pushing BMW Central.

Thank you for everyone's contribution; I knew it would be a tricky subject. As long as it's a reasonable expectation of position given the numbers, this would do it. I did see this but didn't fancy the task of PHP'ing it. It's something I can turn to later on to refine the service.
