Did you try reporting the issue to MSI as I suggested a few posts earlier? They tend to be helpful (in my experience).

If you look at device manager and the description of the CPU I expect windows already knows its AMD. It would be interesting to know how it even boots if this is not the case! It will be some call to check the CPU in the MSI driver installation that is not working quite right so it's MSI that...

Well that sux! Sounds like that needs reporting as a bug on the MSI site. I have always found MSI look into these things and fix them.

Can you report your results @4K8KW10 ? I have resisted upgrading from 20H1 since everything seems OK and I like to give any new versions of Windows a few weeks/months to get the bugs fixed :)

Given the interest rates on business accounts (zero generally) they would make nothing. If the money went into a business savings account, probably a pittance. Certainly nowhere near the amount it cost them to buy cards for the free upgrades they did.

In my experience the beta releases very rarely give issues but they do fix other things. I expect that the manufacturer is confident that they are stable but just want to throw it through many many hardware setups before they commit.

I cancelled my order literally 1 day before the offer emails started to go out - typical. I ended up jumping ship just before that to a competitor and picking up a 3080 (non LHR) card for (just) less than 1k. I doubt I would have got the offer email any time soon from OC as I was at queue...

Why should Nvidia be bothered about the second hand market which they get nothing from, when they can sell every 3080 chip/GPU they make?
