I meant to reply to this yesterday. Anyway, I have a factory overclocked 6700xt and on Assassin's Creed Valhalla, GPU temp seems to hover around 60 with junction temperature at up to 79. My case has decent ventilation but I haven't done anything special.
I was waiting for a 3060ti but I gave up in the end as I don't think they really exist! I got an Asrock 6700xt Phantom gaming from here and it's working great. It was almost worth the expense just to stop my 24-7 obsession with searching for a card and I think it should be good enough for my...
Thanks for being so open about the pricing and I know you have taken a hit on it. It was a big factor in me finally deciding to snap up one of the higher spec cards listed. I thought if I'm going to spend that much on a card, it might as well be one with a factory overclock and RGB fans! :) It's...
Probably, we are just so used to things selling out in seconds! I'm sure they will sell. Many people still have a great need for for a decent card and have been waiting to have a choice from a reputable retailer.
Yes, I didn't mean that Overclockers were scalping, I know they are paying very high prices to distributors and I do hope they don't lose out on these cards themselves if they don't sell.
I'd rather the retailers were doing the scalping so we keep our consumer rights if we buy but I'm not paying that price for a mid-low range graphics card just to play Assassin's Creed Valhalla on high settings. It's just not worth it.
I was very excited to see all the stock but disappointed at the prices. They were even higher when they first got posted. Interesting to see the EVGA 3070 is still available this morning too. Perhaps with the crypto crash, we have seen the retail price limit now.
I feel like it will still be a long time before the prices come down to acceptable levels for a casual PC gamer like me. I assume these cards will still be somewhat attractive to miners but they will be willing to pay about half the current ridiculous price point?
That was a really interesting watch, thanks. The useful take for me is that the two fan cards are unlikely to be available anyway (for my daughter's m-ATX build) so I'm best off looking out for the 6700 XT for my machine and it won't be far off the performance of the 3070 I was looking for.
I'm amazed that anybody can truly defend any part of what scalpers do. I'm equally amazed that anybody would sacrifice their consumer rights and buy from them. I don't like the high shop prices, but at least I would be protected if I were to miraculously be able to buy from them.
I saw 3060s yesterday afternoon in large quantities but then I refreshed and they were gone so either it was a glitch or they were all bought up in about 1 minute flat.
6700 XTs in stock too but they are all 3 fan which is too big for the m-ATX build I wanted it for. Not to mention I'm not spending that much for my daughter to play Genshin Impact! Maybe one day the prices will be reasonable again.
In my old machine, I have a 1050Ti paired with an i7-7700k and a 1440p screen. My son plays Roblox and Minecraft without any apparent difficulties. I tried Assassins Creed Valhalla and get a minimum 30fps on medium settings but the gameplay is ok. My daughter has a new machine with a Ryzen 5...
