multi graphics card / sli question

Hey, My work PC is using a 5000x intel chipset which doesn't support SLI. However, I want to run more than two monitors. Can I do that using dual gfx cards in a non SLI mode? Cheers!

    ***The Official E7200 Overclocking Thread***

Update on my E7200 on a P5K-E board. 400 x 9.5 passed 8 hours of orthos. vCore set to 1.325 in BIOS, but I believe the P5K-e undervolts by 0.1 Both CPUz and Asus probe seem to confirm this. Cpu is looking like it has more to give but struggling to get stable above 400 FSB. Not sure what this...

    High FSB or CPU Multiplier

People tend to forget that the stability of an overclock is down to many factors, and not just the cpu or RAM. It could be that your motherboard has an instability hole around the 425MHz mark that was causing issues.

'ning! Don't have any screens yet; only in 1st testing phase after getting my replacement board in late last night. Hitting the 3800 mark without any problems so far. I'm on an Asus P5K-E with 906 BIOS. E7200 stepping : Q745A923 Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 Currently I've tried 400 x 9.5...

    Asus P5K Premium/WiFi-AP Power Question

My understanding is that if you have a power supply with an 8 pin then you're best of using that. How much actual difference is I don't know.

Overclocking Help - P5K-E, Deluxe and Premium Owners

Speaking first from personal experience and then from retrospectively checking on the internets I can say that I would absolutely avoid Asus Update in the same way one might trying to avoid stabbing yourself in the face with a pointed object. It seems like using it on Vista 64 (as I did) is...

    Help! P5K-E Bios flash problems

It does have the crashfree BIOS, sadly though it doesn't seem to be working. Doesn't get to the point of doing the checksum, on start the system powers on/off repeatedly on a 2 second cycle. :(:( RMA time by the looks of things. And yeah, don't think I'll be doing it through windows again.

    Help! P5K-E Bios flash problems

Gah! Was using Asus updater in windows to update the bios to 1012 on my P5K-e. Erased and flashed ok but failed to verify. Tried to flash a few more times but it failed on erasing. Now, try and start up Asus update tool and it it says 'Unable to detect ASUS BIOS' and hangs. I...

    Nvidia 9600 GSO

I think it's very bad business and could backfire quite badly depending on who picks up on it. All it needs is the inquirer or some other technology-rag-for-the-masses to make a big deal of it and they'll be looking at a big dint in their credibility.

cheap slimline ATX box for a hidden-away media server

Lian Li V800A is looking like a good bet at £56 or the Silverstone Lascala LC 13 for a tenner more. I'm a bit limited as want to keep my ATX board.

Which monitor would you recommend for Photoshop/Video & Gaming?

If photoshop is a big thing for you, i.e is accurate colour reproduction important, I'd go for something with an S-PVA or IPS panel rather than a cheaper TN panel. (edit) just noticed the 2ndpost has this info on it. Ace.

just oced q6600, not a good idea

Also it's a good idea to overclock your CPU and RAM separately. When you're finding the max overclock for your cpu make sure your RAM stays well within its rated limits at all times. Then write down your max stable overclock for the CPU, set everything back so the CPU is within its limits and...

    remortage advice

In my experience you can either pay it as a lump sum of have it added to the mortgage loan. Generally they try and suggest that you add it as obviously they then earn the lump sum plus the interest for it.

cheap slimline ATX box for a hidden-away media server

Hey, I'm replacing my main rig but keeping the same case with the idea of building a new media server out of my old parts. So, I need a small ATX case with room for 4 HDDs inside. Essentially I'm looking for something a bit like a media centre case but without the bells&whistles & expensive...

    New build, new overclock

Hey, Not been on here in ages, don't upgrade my kit that often so I had less&less to contribute to the forums. Anyhow, just got all the bits sat on my work desk to replace my much loved water cooled Athlon XP @ 2.5Ghz/255FSB, NF7-S D26 Black Mantaray BIOS (got a stable o/c to 2.7GHz 225*12...

    quick either or question

To go with an Asus P5K-E and an E7200 I am unsure which is the best of the following for overclocking: 4GB Kit (2x2GB) 800MHz/PC2-6400 Memory Platinum Performance CL5 (5-4-4-18) or 4GB Kit (4x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 CL 4-4-4-15 PLATINUM XTC (or unless someone has a completely...

How Can I Increase Wireless Signal Stregth Without Changing Router

If your linksys router is the Linux version of the WRT54G wireless router then yes, it is compatible with DD-WRT. I have it on mine and it's excellent. Signal boosting works a treat, also have full QOS and traffic shaping which is excellent. If your router is pretty old it will be linux anyway...
