Premium Bonds - If you post to say how much you've won, please also say how much you have invested.

This would be a valid option yes, as long as the market holds before you need to draw on your pot. I've only started putting into a DC pension 3 or so years ago, before that I was in a DB pension. I think I've still enough years to accrue enough in the DC to pay off what is left on my mortgage...

The only thing that'd stop me making any overpayments on my mortgage is if I could guarantee an investment outside of my mortgage would make more than the interest I save by overpaying. In the end I do a mix, a bit of overpaying and a bit of investing.

So err, What’s Happened to the Princess of Wales?

Unfortunately for my family we are going through very similar to what Kate is. Due to that though I can feedback on the NHS. My wife went into hospital on 3rd March. After many tests a 'mass' was found in her bowel. On March 17th the mass was removed from her bowel. We're still waiting to hear...

https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/bst-should-be-kept-permanently.18986087/#post-37035837 Got two threads going for this topic now. For me, keep it as BST, GMT is just grim!

    Obesity

You're not alone, I don't like running either. I used to run a fair bit, started getting lots of shin splints so swapped to cycling. I much prefer cycling :D I'm 46 this year so I have to do all I can now to protect / prolong the life of my joints and cycling doesn't hammer the joints like...

    Obesity

Well done. Walking or cycling to work if possible is a great way to get some exercise in with minimising lost free time as much as possible. I cycle 6 miles each way to work. Whilst my journey to work is 10mins slowed than in a car on the way home on most days the journey is quicker on the bike...

    Obesity

How did they get away with stating that is healthy? disgusting. My mum was obese, she died young (62) because of it and didn't have the best of health for many years prior to her death because of it which impacted her quality of life. Being obese should never be promoted as healthy, it simply...

I've never seen anything other than blue and black annoyingly. I hope one day I'll get the big reveal and see the alternative.

    Maths Help

I agree with this. An ISA would be tax free so you'll have an additional 5.03% on top of your initial investment.

Is this a misleading antenatal/pregnancy related HR policy?

That is how my policies at work are also worded. Paid leave is what I get for doctors / dentist appointments etc. In our emergency leave policy, where I can be off work to look after a dependent, it is worded I can take paid leave but in most cases only a few days which should allow other...

Payraise.. how much do you expect? how much did you get?

We were offered 4.5% this year however last year we were given a fluff up of 1% unconsolidated so in real terms the deal is only 3.5% As the wages are considered low where I work compared to other similar businesses the results of a ballot were 98% rejecting the offer. Things are going to get...

Is this a misleading antenatal/pregnancy related HR policy?

I think that policy is very clear and from that policy you do NOT have to use annual leave as it clearly states 'You may take PAID time off'. Obtain a copy of the appointment. Scan it, book an appointment through your companies system and attach the scanned copy of the appointment. Exactly the...

    COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

I've had the same but most of mine were pre Christmas. I have young kids and it was just virus after virus. I reckon I had about 4 and every one of them went onto my chest. Not sure a flu jab would help prevent those though? I assume I didn't actually have flu as I could carry on with life...

    COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

Strange. Thought I'd do another test this morning as yesterday's line, whilst clearly present, was faint. All clear this morning.

    COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

Had a cold start with bizarre sudden dizzy spells last Friday. Runny nose all weekend. Cough came on yesterday. Thought it was just a normal cold but you mentioning dizzy spells got me thinking so I just did a test. Kit is out of date but there's a line, albeit faint. Meh.

    Men only clubs

1st world problems. It's a men's only club. If you don't like it leave and join a club that fits in with your own values. Women like to segregate themselves at times too. I'm pretty sure there are women only sport classes, yoga, circuits etc and there are women only gym's. So much drama...

Today i'm facing my biggest fear!

Last time I had an anaesthetic I came round pretty quickly and was wide awake for when they pulled the tube out from inside my throat  A bit like being removed from the Matrix, fun!
