I'm basically clueless about this stuff, but 60hz with vsync = 60 fps, no? So going above that is going add stress to the GPU, isn't it?
144 with v-sync is what? 144fps? Idk.. that's why I'm asking.
My graphics card is only a 1660ti and I currently have a 60hz screen. I was wondering if upgrading to a 144hz screen would put any extra stress on my graphics card? (assuming same resolution etc).
An old-ish game I play requires CPU affinity to be limited to 2 CPU's (1st and 3rd), and the only way I know to set this is by doing it through task manager every single time I launch the game.
Is there a more permanent solution so I don't need to do it each time I play the game?
Sorry, if this is a dumb question (I'm old and trying to get my head around modern tech).
But would a cheapo stick of M.2 such as "WD Green Internal SSD M.2 SATA 2280" be better for my OS than my currect SSD which is a Samsung V-NAND SSD 860 EVO?
Or do I need to invest a bit more money for...
Just built my first PC in about 15 years, and I'm a bit out of the loop when it comes to hardware.
Anyway, to get me started I've installed a couple of sticks of Corsair Vengence DDR4 3200 Mhz
But My bios says DRAM frequency is 2133 Mhz, and a Specs utility is reporting "16.0GB Dual-Channel...
In the picture its radiator then fan, but in the video it fan then radiator.
Yes I can see that of course, and it's not the only difference.
I know that. But that wasn't my question. I'm wondering which way around the fan/radiator is best situated. Radiator in front or behind the fan?
Which...
I'm a bit confused about which way around to install the components of a Corsair Hydro (single fan).
The images in the instructions seem to indicate that the radiator is against the case, and the fan is on the inside (See step 2)...
I'm building a new PC with a MSI motherboard - "MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC" (it's not quite ready to power on yet but will be soon) and have been looking at the software that is is on the included DVD and available from the MSI website. But I'm not sure what I should install, and what is just...
I haven't been here much in the last 5-10 years. Pretty much only came back now out of a vague optimistic curiosity that this place may be a degree less crazy than the other places I've been frequenting recently.
So what's been going on in GD land over the last decade? Anyone care to update me...
Thanks a lot for the help.
Forgive my noobishness, but wouldn't that method depend on both exe files being in the same folder?
If so, what I'm trying to do makes that impossible.
Ok my bad. Heh *facedesk*. It works fine. ;)
Although... having said that, I'm still having trouble with the paths. I use double backslashes as mentioned, but get the following error;
Line: 7
Char: 4
Error: The system cannot find the file specified.
Code: 80070002

The path is...
Hey guys.
I was wondering if anyone who knew programming could write me a small script (Win7+Win10)?
Basically I have two near-identical folders each with an exe. And I want one shortcut on my desktop which, when clicked, will check the time of day, and if it's 8am-8pm it will launch the exe...
