Fitted a cheap aftermarket fan to my original Abit Siluro GF4 Ti4400 as the fan was super noisy and I think it was over heating as was causing some instability, Seems to be running fine now under Win 98SE in my P3 Tualatin 1.4 build using the Omega 43.45 drivers, Chris

What retro things have you done today?

Yes it's weird that there is this difference between them when other than that they look identical, The only reason I looked into 86Box over PCem was it has additional soundcards to play around with such as the AWE64, Yes as someone who grew up with a 386 making floppies with different...

What retro things have you done today?

I've been playing around with PCem & 86Box and overall they do seem very good especially when compared to the actual physical hardware. 86Box does seem to be my preferred emulator but there is one annoyance with it, when using 3dfx mode on Carmageddon there is an annoying black bar at the top...

What retro things have you done today?

Hi @Zaf - Our second PC was a Compaq Presario P75 which at the time was great coming from a 386 SX20 but in hindsight the P75 chip wasn't that brilliant due to its 25mhz bus. @cee-S-dee - That a really nice clean looking system, I do have a Riva TNT2 Vanta PCI card I can use but was having...

Thanks for the comments guys, I was quite lucky and managed to get the motherboard NOS and the case was brand new as well which helps with the clean appearance. Guest 2 - I've never come across PCem, how does it compare to real hardware especially the 3dfx card and the AWE32? Chris
