    This has freaked me out

If you're all still not sure then if you have an Android you can use the Privacy Dashboard (https://support.google.com/android/answer/13530434?hl=en-GB) or if you have an iPhone you can use the App Privacy Report (https://www.apple.com/uk/privacy/control/) to see which apps have accessed used...

    This has freaked me out

I very much doubt they're "listening to you" because they'd most likely have been pulled to pieces by the EU etc. It might be location based, e.g., the ad network saw searches for Nitro PDF from your works IP / location and Facebook saw your phone on the same network / location and put two and...

Pension fund performance - do you monitor yours, how is it doing, do you actively change it?

Click use template at the top right and it'll make a copy you can edit and save to your own Google Drive, or export to Excel (file > download) if you don't want to use Google Sheets.

Pension fund performance - do you monitor yours, how is it doing, do you actively change it?

Oh interesting I hadn't seen that before. I might have to migrate over to it then, cheers.

    Stair ramp cupboard/wardrobe help

Random, I saw someone post something very similar on reddit the other day, so if you want some more ideas - I'd go with the skate ramp one! https://www.reddit.com/r/DesignMyRoom/comments/1bc65gc/any_ideas_on_how_to_make_this_corner_less_of_an/ Not an expert but I'd probably make a frame and...

    Garden fence

If they're your posts and she did it without asking then I'd be a bit annoyed out of principal as it sets a precedent for other things. If they asked about it then I'm sure most people wouldn't mind. The nuclear option would be to wait until she'd put a load of washing out then snip it.

Pension fund performance - do you monitor yours, how is it doing, do you actively change it?

Ahh, I figured as much. I can kind of work it out by looking at the employer paid amount and then comparing it against the shown current valuation but like you say it seems a bit smoke and mirrors compared to the other providers. We're on a 0.33% management fee deal and I moved my fund to the...

Pension fund performance - do you monitor yours, how is it doing, do you actively change it?

Does anyone with Scottish Widows know if there's a way to see a summary of your funds recent performance? I know I can lookup the fund datasheet directly but I'd prefer to to login and see a "your fund has gone up/down by £x in the last six months" kind of thing. My old Aegon pension does this...

Office Chair - Staples Kashmir has finally become uncomfortable!

I'd also go for a Herman Miller. I've had mine for about 20 years, they're pretty indestructable and you can find parts easilly if you do break something.

Do you navigate away from webpages that have tedious ‘cookie’ pop-ups?

I also just tend to use I still don't care about cookies (the original version is called I don't Care about Cookies but Avast bought it so people forked it way from the Avast version) It's a massive mess. It really should have been a per-site browser settings with defined defaults from day one...

    Porch Spotlights

The Hue bridge integrates fine into Home Assistant too which means you don't need to buy a zigbee dongle etc unless you really need it. That's what I use.

    Porch Spotlights

I did it with bog standard lights and smart switches. The lights are wired into mains plugs plugged into a smart switches essentially. You can then swap out the lights or switches separately if one breaks. As an extra I further tied it together by using Hue outdoor motion sensors and Home...

The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

This is something I've never really got. A good chunk of billionaires are egotistical and doing something like solving homelessness in their area would give them lots of PR and boost their ego, cement them in history and all that, yet they never seem to. But then it's impossible to become a...

    Is Amazon delivery getting worse?

I ordered 3 small things the other week and they sent it in 3 separate deliveries. Maybe they were in different warehouses but still, seems wasteful. I think their tracking is definitely not as great as it used to be which is annoying - but then so are most delivery companies, it's frustrating...

Should the BOE issue a £100 note?

I don't think I've paid in cash for years, it's a hassle to hold onto and it holds queues up in shops vs a split second contactless payment. I don't even take a credit card / wallet with me most of the time and just use Android pay. And if I am in a situation where I do need cash then I can just...

    Side hustles and tax stuff

Just to expand a little.. when you fill in your self-assessment they look at your total income. So say your salaried earnings are £56,270 (40% tax bracket is £50,270), then £6000 of that would be taxed at the 40% bracket. With salary sacrifice you basically take a salary reduction, but your...

    Side hustles and tax stuff

Not an expert but if your pension is paid via salary sacrifice you can probably opt to sacrifice whatever you earn on the side via your company to save on tax. E.g., you earn £5k, so pay another £5k in your pension via salary sacrifice.
