The one I was using was the one supplied. I switched it to another dp cable I had (can't remember exactly where it came from), and the flickering stopped. Today I switched back to the original cable, and there was no flickering. So maybe it was just that the cable wasn't seated perfectly? Either...

A different cable seems to have done the trick - thanks for the tip :) The backlight bleed is kind of annoying, but I think I can live with it. Better at the bottom corners than the top. Hardly ideal for a £900+ screen tho...

Okay, I've set the beast up - quite a slick setup process. First impressions are... Not great tbh :/ Firstly, there is a significant amount of backlight bleed in the bottom left and (particularly) bottom right corner. Pretty noticeable on a black background even during the day. Top corners...

Well, mine's been delivered. The odyssey is over! The box is blood enormous - guess that's to account for the curve of the screen? I'll post impressions later, after I get a chance to set it up.

I got it at a discount originally (970), but I was going to ask for further reduction based on the fact it's been delayed 3 times.

Mine's also due for delivery on Monday. About damn time... Kind of annoyed at myself that I didn't get around to asking Dell for a discount now though.

With the limited supply, I'd imagine they're being less liberal with discounts now. I ordered a couple weeks after you, and £970 was as low as I could get then after a few attempts. Seems it's gone even further now. Cracking deal you got tho!

No idea on stock dates - would like to know myself. The "dodgy" website is a re-seller of returned / refurbished parts. There's a couple of them out there.

Well, mine's (finally) been pushed back - from 23/05 to 29/05. Given that there are people on here who ordered before me and have been pushed back to the 30th, I doubt that will be the last time it shifts. Wish I'd gone ahead and bought one for £1100 a month ago tbh...

Can't really me mention competitors here, but if you browse the web then there's a "very" good chance that you'll find it, at Dell's non-discounted price.

The Alienware seems the best on the market right now, though the Asus PG35 at 200Hz could be better, when it is available in a few months, if you like a VA panel. Doesn't seem to be much around in the form of HDR at UW with g-sync at the moment though. Personally I was looking for a ~38"...
