Same problem here, I thought something was wrong with my PC, but seems that your having the same problems. My system consists of WinXP PRO SP2, IE7 and also Antivir, maybe it has something to do with the antivirus?

If thats the case I would be really dissapointed, considering that in the manual it doesnt specify that the pci-e 16x slots are for vga only.

Today I tested the raid controller in one of the IBM servers at work and it worked perfectly. So now I know that the raid controller works. Tomorrow I will try to update the raid controller firmware to the latest one, maybe the problem gets solved.

It depends on your mobo, if the manual says they both are running at 8x, that should be fine then. Thanks a lot for your help, will keep you updated on my findings once I have all the hardware here.

Thanks a lot for your help. If the raid card runs at 4x it should be more than enough, I am just planning a 3 disk raid 5 array for the moment. Btw, since the card has an x8 interface, will it fit without problems in a x16 slot?

I have got one of these boards but the its the new 4core-vsta. As you know this board has both an agp slot and a pci express slot. Can both be used at the same time? I would use the agp for the vga and the pci express lot for a raid card.

The raid card in question is a Dell Perc 5/i Controller and it needs a Pci Express x8 slot. Do any of the new P35 boards support a x16 VGA in the first slot and 8x in the second slot if both are populated?

So PIV are really that slow at the moment and I wont see any difference in speeds when editing photos? What if I upgrade to a PIV D930 3GHz Dual Core cpu, would I see a significant speed increase? Cause sometimes when I do certain things in photoshop with my system, it feels a bit slow.
