Go for it, here are the 4 original frames in order :)

Something a bit different - "frozen moments" [GIF heavy]

Thanks, yes these were made with frame animation in Photoshop. The camera takes 4 frames for each shot, and the faster moving ones are only using those frames. For the slower / smoother ones I've interpolated between the original frames using this, although it didn't work too well on some of the...

Something a bit different - "frozen moments" [GIF heavy]

Hi all, Long time no post. A few years ago a friend gave me an old 3D film camera - a Nishika N8000, for my birthday, and I finally got round to finishing a roll of film in it recently. Been putting together some of the results from the film scans tonight and wanted to share. Bit of a...

    Soft images from one lens

I have this lens and have always been very happy with it; definitely sounds like something Sigma should have a look at (although I don't have any experience of getting lenses serviced myself). Possibly not the best subject, but 100% crops compared to my Canon 50/1.8 (both at f5.6 on a tripod)...

Thermal Dynamics question for you techno science folk

Short answer: B. I'm pretty sure Amleto is correct (Edit: and apparently we have empirical confirmation from SpeedFreak :p). Longer answer: In the simplest case where we ignore the change in surface area / volume when doing the mixing, the two options give the same temperature. I've spent a...

is it possible to give yourself whiplash?

Could well be the headbanging, back when we had decent rock nights here I'd go out fully expecting my neck to hurt for the next 2 - 3 days if the music was any good :p

Optical splitter - will it work properly?

I've heard of issues with Sky HD and these before, AFAIK it's because Sky HD boxes output a silent audio stream over optical even when in standby (i.e. they don't actually turn their optical output off). Don't know if either the PS3 or XBox 360 do anything similar though.

Is it supposed to have no sound at the moment or is it just me?

Slow transfer speeds from PC to PS3 over ethernet!

Not 100% sure but I *think* these should work without any processing at all: and these should also work through tsMuxer without actually transcoding, so should be just as fast: However I'm not an expert on video codecs etc or how PS3 media server decides what to transcode, so again I'm...

Slow transfer speeds from PC to PS3 over ethernet!

PS3 media server transcodes video on the fly (to MPEG4 afaik) to make it playable on the PS3, so I'd guess you're being limited by the speed your PC can convert the video rather than the actual network connection. Maybe check PS3 Media Server's CPU usage etc to check this.

[Video] The Third & The Seventh

Hi all, Came across this absolutely stunning *fully 3D rendered* (<<- you'll see why this is emphasised when you watch it) video earlier, and thought you guys would appreciate it :). It's quite long but well worth a watch all the way through. Linky Also if you're interested, just above...
