Yes definatley the artic cooler if your case cooling er isnt. I've got no case fans but the NV does a great job, 2D fan speeds are very low and it's still much lower in temps that stock cooling at full wack. Slim

The ease of porting makes no difference what so ever to the consumer, it's not like any game developer is going to put out an ATI only version earlier than an NV version. Slim

Same happen to me. I took the opportunity to install a Artic Silencer but it was channel between HS + Fan that was totally blocked with me. Unscrew the top of the HS and clear it out (unscrew the picture if it's anything like my XFX was pre cooler change). Slim

Well your 6800gt (like mine) isnt far short of the performance of the 7600gt so price it from there. Additionally, if it aint broke and you cant afford to go up to high specs (eg 78/79's) then stick with it until you can.

It's having dynamic shadows set to medium or lower. Set the to high and the shadows do come up to scratch but saying that dynamic shadows at full is a pretty high overhead by it's nature.
