Thing is people ,the 4870 memoery and voltage regs need to be cooled efficiently, passive isnt good enough. Looking around the web quite a few peoples cards are failing after fitting aftermarket coolers not designed for the specific job of 4870. Many people have used the stock cooler base plate...
I have phoned aqua computer and said i want refund on these coolers and adapter, i waited ages for adapter and whilst i was waiting i tried one cooler, it cooled ok but i wasnt happy with the fit so i removed and refitted stock cooler, they were trying to say its strange it doesnt fit etc, also...
Not worth the moey over E8400 let alone the E8500.
My mate has one and he is rather good at overclocking and he has his at 4.3ghz atm, keeping voltage as low as he can heres a screenie he gave me

Am i wrong in thinking overclocking the memory ont have as big impact as overclocking the gpu as the memory already has a massive transfer rate as it is , surely the cpu has limitations compared to gpu,in tests i see the cpu is a big factor in speeds these cards run at,iv not played with mine...
is your mobo fitted upside down? if its not and your picture is upside down then your cpu waterblock is fitted upside down, looking nice m8,i got a fusion block and await a fitting from ocuk(dont ask long answer lol) to fit my 2nd waterblock for gpu.
Well im still awaiting my Variable SLI VGA Connector 2 Slot from ocuk, i ordered 2 and they sent one 2 slot and one 1 slot:rolleyes:,sent back incorrect one and still one week await arrival of correct purchased fitting, very annoying as i want this rig finished, i never complained about P&P it...
im wondering if they milled there slots out of place, think its the voltage regs(the tall ones they want pads on).It was tricky but i got them aligned but dont like the fact screws are not fully tight, ie not against standoffs
i thought the finish could have been smoother myself, there is a "rise" on the gpu cooling part, maybe this is there on purpose to suit card?
I also found lack of stand offs a problem, i noticed card flexing under screw tension so i slacked them off a little, INSTRUCTIONS on thermal pads are not...
I have 2 4870's to cool along with a E8200, i doubt my thermaltake 240 rad would handle this, i have a friend who is sending me his old 240 rad this week. i will try his rad along with mine in loop then try my chiller without rads to see how they perform, i know my chiller will work a treat but...
I ordered the Laing DDC-1T pro by mistake instead of the ultra, would the pro be sufficient for a cpu and crossfire loop? or should i send back pump pay re-stocking cost(what a joke that is) as well as delivery both ways, plus extra for ultra(total cost probably around £100 )
Or should i...
Just got my aquagratix water blocks today, will test tomorrow, but im not sure if my water cooling will handle them, awaiting a 2x120 rad to add to loop and regassing of my climate control chiller i finished making, will try 2 2x120 rads first then my chiller alone:D
The blocks are copper and manifolds are aluminium(anodised now).Thing is im sure my rad is aluminium not copper.
im thinking best bet might be a seperate loop for gpu's and keep my current loop on cpu as it is.
Thing is im currently making a chiller for my system and this has climate...
What is the best option for the following:
I am water cooling my cpu atm and am adding 2 full cover gpu blocks, i have made up two aluminium manifolds and am thinking of running flow into one manifold and diverting off three ways to the cpu and two gpu blocks. Then on return side they return to...
i like silence too, when i set gpu fan speed to 25% motherboard temp shoots up , the 4870's are warming my pc up to much. 35% gpu fan speed keeps motherboard and gpu's cool but noise is irritating.Im also impatiant and want things yesterday :D. You can order direct from aqua computers too(like i...
Ordered 2 waterblocks from aqua computers 69 euros each plus fittings etc and more water cooling fluid hose etc added cost to £150,cant wait till delivery, other companys like ek are starting delivery around 14-17 july, aqua state 10th. Hopefully ill have my climate control chiller up and running...
