Asus HD 7970 DirectCU II TOP - lack of HDMI audio?

Unfortunately I'm not in front of my home pc atm, but what I am simply trying to do here is what I had before with my old 5850 - HDMI (VGA) to HDMI (TV) (no apmplifier in between) and choosing HDMI as the audio option on windows. But good to know that it is possible through the DVI-HDMI adapter...

Asus HD 7970 DirectCU II TOP - lack of HDMI audio?

When I tried that I was prompted by an AMD pop up message saying something along the lines of 'if you want audio you need to connect an audio cable from your pc to your monitor'. Do I need to enable some kind of option in the Catalyst Control Centre by chance?

Asus HD 7970 DirectCU II TOP - lack of HDMI audio?

Hello, I recently bought this card to replace my 5-year old, everlasting 5850. The improvement noticed was very satisfactory and I’m positively impressed with how this behemoth is handling the high-end games at ultra settings and all. But there’s one little thing which puzzles me – the lack...

    Who's ditching 48XX for 58XX?

I'm not sure how much difference in FPS would I notice if i ditch my current 4850 crossfire setup for a single 5870 (no money for a 5870 crossfire set up). I would definitely see less stuttering due to the higher memory but with regards FPS I don't think I'd see a quantum leap. Can anyone...

You sure? I checked them again and it is clearly indicated that they are dual channel.;)

Gainward BLISS GeForce 7800 GS+ AGP

The reason why it is scoring low because its probably set up for quality. If he changes his driver settings from quality to high performance his scores would definitely go into the 8500-9000 range. I've got the first edition Gainward 7800GS and I get roundabout 8500 in 3dmark05.

    7800GS AGP problem...

It happened to me as well when I had my card (the same as yours btw)overclocked at 515Mhz. A couple of days ago i underclocked the card to 505mhz and never experienced this blank screen problem again since then. To tell you the truth, however, I am not really sure whether this was indeed an...

Need help with my Gainward 7800GS 512mb

Before running it I chose High Quality. But if Im not mistaken I then chose the default 3dMark setting on the Nvidia interface which I presume should take the setting back to High Performance, correct me if Im wrong? Unfortunately Im not at home atm so I really cannot verify that. I see you...

Need help with my Gainward 7800GS 512mb

Need help with my Gainward 7800GS 512mb

So this the only way one can overclock this card through the Nvidia interface? As for the 3dMark05 score? Do you think that's right? Is there someone who has the same card who can answer as well, perhaps? Thanks

Need help with my Gainward 7800GS 512mb

Yes I did. First Ive uninstalled the drivers and the Catalyst Control Center, restarted the PC in safe mode and ran Driver Cleaner. Then I restarted the PC again in normal mode, installed the new card and ran the latest nvidia drivers.

Need help with my Gainward 7800GS 512mb

Hi, Last night, I received my Gainward 7800 GS 512mb card. I am quite a noobie when it comes to nvidia cards. My last nvidia card was an FX5600 (crappiest card ever btw!!!!) which I replaced with a 9800XT two years ago and moved to an X800XT PE just about a year and a half ago. This...

    Gainward 7800GS 512mb AGP - some questions

By the way, I finally got to know what's the make of my PSU, its a Colors-it 480W PSU. The following are the specs I've found on their website but I really don't understand them. Voltage AC Input DC Output Current 115V 60Hz 230V 50Hz +12V +5V +3.3V -12V -5V...

    6800 Ultra - Worth upgrading?

Technically, you're right but I live in Malta and the cost of shipping the card back to the UK plus the additional shipping costs for the new delivery (MOBO+GPU would cost me 40 GBP to have them delivered to Malta) would not make the order feasible anymore.

Gainward bring you a 512MB 7900 GT for AGP!!!!

I pefectly agree with your comment. Why did Gainward introduce the 7800 GT AGP 512Mb a few weeks back if they knew they were going to introduce this one a couple of weeks later. I bought the 7800 GT AGP yesterday and I feel ripped off, to say the least. Introducing a better card every six months...

    6800 Ultra - Worth upgrading?

I must shamefully admit that I wasn’t aware of the fact that PCI express S754 motherboards even existed so when considering an upgrade to pci-e I always factored into the formula the cost of a new s939 cpu so I always ended up concluding that’s its not quite feasible upgrading to PCI-E for me at...

    6800 Ultra - Worth upgrading?

Hi Guys, Sorry for intruding but going through your comments almost caused me a heart attack and I am now starting to have second thoughts. Yesterday, I ordered an AGP Gainward 7800 GS 512mb (20 pixel pipelines) AGP in order to replace my X800XT PE card. I must admit that the x800xt pe is...

    Gainward 7800GS 512mb AGP - some questions

FYI, I've just received an email from overclockers saying that the card has been shipped so presumably it will arrive to Malta in, say, three or four working days. As for the PSU I think I will go by trial and error and replace my current PSU in case something goes wrong when I install the...
