Spa and Paul Ricard to share an F1 race slot from 2013

This has nothing to do with F1 deciding to axe the Belgian Grand Prix so they can fit more Asian tracks onto the calander. Whilst I was a Spa this weekend there was talk that they couldnt really afford the race and they were looking to impliment a deal like the Nurburgring/Hockenhem bi-annual...

    Meh... Vauxhalls

I had to settle for a Vauxhall - Its got bugger all kit in it, leaks in the rain, eats tyres and can only just get two people in, and then its a squeeze. Crappy VX220 :(

Spec Me: £5000, 50,000 miles PA, Large Boot Space

All I can say is I did / do a lot of miles a year (74k this year) but racked up 65-70k the year before in a 2004 Honda Accord 2.2 CDTi Executive. Loved that car, it was ultra reliable, lovely to drive and dirt dirt cheap to run. Drove it fast for 400miles a day and got 48-50mpg - Drive them...

    2011 car plans....

Plan is to get the VX220 over the 200bhp mark for sure this year. Running Comp Stage 1 cams, increased compression, lightened fly, Ported head, balancer delete, Piper backbox and pre-cat removal currently. Think its going to take throttle bodies and exhaust manifold with a remap to get it...

    Thorney Motorsport

Threatening to sue the likes OCUK and other owners clubs must be a really bad way of doing business, but the certainly the best way of alienating your entire customer base. Courtney Sport it is for the VX now :D

    New wheels and another exhaust

Hi Neil, looks a stunning example. Out of interest have you sold the old wheels yet? I've been searching for something simular for my VX220. Exhaust wise, a big fan of that!

    Thorney Motorsport

I was looking into getting either Thorney or Courtney Motorsport to do some work on my VX220, I couldnt decide who. Decision now made :)

My Honda goes through headlamp bulbs like I go through hot dinners

I had a 54Reg Accord that ate bulbs, anything from 5-6hours to 2-3 months. Finally bought a load of cheap bulbs and just added as and when, managed to find a pair that lasted a full6 months before getting rid of the car. As AGW says, water in the headlights is a weak spot

Ever felt sad about selling your car?

I was gutted when I sold the 5th Gen Prelude in December. Was almost to the point of having it in a really nice condition and how I wanted it - just really fancied something different with RWD :)

In an ideal world... What is your next car?

I've been perving over VX220s and Lotus Elise S1's for the last 4 months. Ideally I'd jump straight in the deep end with a VX220 Turbo. Looks like its more likely to be an NA, maybe sooner than I'd expected too :)

Tomorrow I start the stupidly expensive road to HGV driving.

Dare I ask how much it costs to do this?

    Honda Accord 2.2 CTDI

Out of that list I've driven: 2.2 CDTI Honda Accord for approx 100,000 miles (both a sport and an Exec) Focus TDCI for 5000-7000miles Astra 1.9 SRI Diesel 10,000 miles Mondeo TDCI 3000miles All cars from years 2004-2008. The Accord was in a different league, only issue I had was...

    Help!

I know, he didnt even recommend the ol' block of wood under the brake peddle to save on brake pad wear either - school boy error :D Id say a saving of £800+ a year on fuel alone is quite a saving and could be deemed worth down sizing if your struggling cash wise. Your only 21 so the insurance...

Potential scam whilst selling my car?

If he'd said it was to make sure it was a genuine Motegi edition then fine. But he wanted to make sure I was insured on it???? Why, its him that needs the insurance not me. God, Id forgotten what a chore selling a car was, text after text after text of "hi , mate. I m intrstd in your'...

Potential scam whilst selling my car?

Thanks :) I keep looking at it and wondering if Im doing the right thing getting rid. I've spent a lot trying to keep it nice - but lets face it they're worth bugger all these days :( Hoping a VX220 NA delivers as many smiles (cost effectively) as the Prelude has over 3 years. Im just...

Potential scam whilst selling my car?

Exactly, I've tried to politely seem confused as to why he needs the chassis number to find out if the car is insured - he didnt take the bait that I wasnt willing to give the information and has phoned back since requesting it "because he has cash......" He's down in my phone now as "ignore...

Potential scam whilst selling my car?

Yesterday the Prelude went up on Pistonheads and PreludeUK for sale. I think its competitively priced for a 5th Gen 1999 but as Im waiting for Pistonheads to approve my listing so no one can see the bloody ad - anyway, thats a different story... I've recieved interest from a guy who asked all...

Normally Id recommend Reiss for leather jackets - pricey normally but there Xmas sales are always brillant. Shame their leather jacket range is poor this year :(

    Car ownership and maturity ?

I've gone from liking Japanese performance cars; Integras, 350Zs and EVOs, to now wanting something a little more "special" as my weekend car, I'd really really love a C3 Corvette to polish at the weekend, that or if I won the lottery a nice 80's 911 Turbo :) Im 26
