Paint it yellow... but which yellow?

Thanks for the suggestions... That's on the possible list but looks to be the same as the pearlescent yellow TVR used and having seen it up close the yellow is great but where it goes pearl it goes pale and washed out looking. Can't say it's one that's jumped out at me while I've been...

Paint it yellow... but which yellow?

Afternoon all, My car is currently in for a full restoration and respray but I'm still not sure WHICH yellow. Nothing pastel/pale. Nothing orange/gold. Something metallic. Currently thinking of going for a Triumph bike colour - Scorched Yellow but looking for other suggestions as yellow...

    recommend me a AV Receiver

I'm looking to replace my Yamaha DSP-A5 AV amp - a star in it's day, but getting a little long in the tooth now (hey, 7 years is a long time in in home cinema terms). Can anyone with an Onkyo 605 tell me if it can be set up to use an external stereo amp for the front left/right speakers?

    Plasma\LCD = a step back in technology?

The thing to remember is that CRT's have had 90 years of R&D put in to them and you can by a top-of-the-range CRT of (comparative) peanuts, as most of that money was spent a few years ago and is more or less free now. Plasmas and LCDs are spring chickens (50 years for plasma, 30 years for LCD)...

    American Cars Why?

American cars often look OK (either OK or "make the baby Jesus cry" ugly) - the problems REALLY start when you open the doors... I've used disposable cups made from higher quality plastic then your average American car interior! And it's down hill from there.

    Steam Engine "car"

I used to be involved in running a transport festival and the traction engines would all turn up Wed/Thurs. They would then light up 5 or 6 and drive the 1/2 mile to the local pub. We would sit in the beer tent on site and listen... best we had was 3 crashes and 2 near misses - one was...

    Spitfire lovers... in here...

Actually Mattius (same as CT Mattius?) I think your both right and wrong. The green car seems to have the standard US rubber box covers (bigger than the UK/rest of world hard plastic ones) where as the black car has either very late US/Californian bumpers. UK Standard US Late/Californian US...

    Which TVR?

Yea, fair cop - that was an over-simplification. Most engines seemed to go quickly if they were going to go would have been a more accurate assessment. I'd say it would be unfair to blame the 'fall' of the company on the engine - even with the engine issues the order books and balance sheets...

    Which TVR?

And following on from an irrelevant and miss-informed response (all the duff engines have been replaced by now and later stuff off the line hasn't seen unexpected failure numbers - rebuild cycles are well over 20k but much lower than a Ford Mondeo as it's a race engine design).... 22k will...

    hydraulic clutch

I'm hoping you used water for your eye...? Overall hydraulic is the 'better' system as you don't get cable stretch/snap. Cable tends to dominate as it's much cheaper and the dealer can screw you for more cash to change it. Oh, and you DO get used to the smell of gear oil - your gearbox...

showing up in a search engine

Which reminds me - is Google still vulnerable to Blog bombing? I remember 12 monts or so back Google had a big problem with blogs cross linking to one another and scewing them up the rankings (as an example, one blog would link to a site that sells cheese, the others blogs would all link to...

showing up in a search engine

Have you submitted the pages to the search engines? If they don't know your there, they won't pay you a visit. Meta tags aren't that important these days, but they ARE parsed as part of the indexer process so you they are worth using to provide positive repition of important words/phrases or...

    Website form being spammed...

Or more correctly SOME human users may use the form. Massive accesibility issue though as they are vision dependent (screen readers can't read the images unless you give them alt tags, in which case the bot could be coded to to pull them too and people with poor eye sight, dyslexia and in...
