    It's not Vista compatible sadly.

    N95 Release

The thing is, if you break it so bad that it won't boot - how would they ever know you've changed the product code. And if it boots but is still broke, you could change the product code back and they'd be none the wiser.

    N95 Release

I'm not sure about changing the product code back at the end of it, but the answer to the rest of it is yes :) I still can't find a changelog anywhere.

    N95 Release

I know! I'm still trying to find a changelist.... My phone certainly feels much, much faster. I can't actually find anything massively different yet though.

    N95 Release

Yeah sorry I'm using the Nokia Software Updater standalone application. You get it from here : http://www.nokia.com/A4176089 It says that the N95 isn't compatible, but it is.Just choose the N80 for the list and select update via PC.

    N95 Release

Well mine was an Orange N95 too before I changed my product code ;) The unbranded product code I used and which works well is : 0536062 Whilst the original Orange code should you wish to change back is 0548170. Whatever you do though, don't brick your phone :D I think altering all of...

    N95 Release

Ok, something I've noticed immediately with the new firmware, the few seconds delay between pressing the menu button and the menu appearing is gone. It's instant now - no delay at all.

    N95 Release

My phone has a sim free, unbranded product code. I simply used the Nokia Software Updater application to update it. As it says in that little blurb above not all operator versions of the firmware are available yet, so I presume whichever network your own doesn't have their firmware updated...

    N95 Release

There's a new firmware version on the Nokia Software Updater this morning for the N95 : "Dear Updaters We are pleased to announce a new software release for the Nokia N95 available through the Nokia Software Updater. Due to potential backup/restore incompatibilities, we strongly...

    MP hacks

I was involved with a now-defunct UK game server provider and the admin staff there used cheats and hacks, usually of the OGC multi-hack variety, on the public servers on a daily basis. It was extremely commonplace. And yet the same admins were banning people left right and centre for...

Orange and Vodafone N95s are crippled

Why don't you use NSS to alter the product code of your phone? :)

    nokia n95

I've discovered that the barcodes used for online airline check-in printouts can be read using the N95. Interesting, in a way, a geeky way, to see which info is stored in them ;)

Orange and Vodafone N95s are crippled

I removed the Orange firmware from mine by downloading a generic version of the firmware and using Phoenix to flash it. It's risky, but I've done it about 20 times or so now. So my N95 is now running on generic firmware. It seems a lot quicker, I have my animated menus back, and of course my...

Orange and Vodafone N95s are crippled

I don't think you can use NSU to re-flash an existing firmware though. So this'll only be of some use when a version higher than the current FW version appears on NSU....

    Nokia N80 ~£10 a month on 3: 300mins/1000texts

I've used an N73 and I found it to be just as crash-happy and sluggish as the N80, although the battery life was markedly better. The N95 is the first Nokia phone I've had since the 3310 that I've loved :D

    Nokia N80 ~£10 a month on 3: 300mins/1000texts

The N80 is dreadful. Possibly the worse phone in some respects, I've ever had the misfortune to own.

Orange and Vodafone N95s are crippled

Pity that Orange don't actually mention the internet calling functions on their phone specs page ( http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/show/handset/nokia_n95/features ) otherwise you'd have a good case to seek some form of compensation.....

    N95 or LG Prada

    I'd go N95 everytime.
