    ** The Official WWDC 2024 thread - Keynote 10th June at 18:00 BST **

Do you think this AI update will allow HomeKit to do the MOST SIMPLE OF REQUESTS - i.e. - I have always wanted to make my HomePod make a noise or audio notification if a certain camera in HomeKit sees a person - not hard is it?? You'd think....... 'person detected on drive' - something like...

But do you *NEED* it though? I mean fair enough if you need an 8TB SSD and 256GB Ram ? I've got the M1 Max MBP 64gb Ram, 2TB SSD and it absolutely annihilates photo editing & video editing. Which is great of course as I got value for money in terms of longevity - it did cost me an eye watering...

I'm curious about people upgrading from M1 Max machines etc - I have my MBP M1 Max & its still absolutely crazy fast with zero reason to upgrade, I do photos & abit of video for a living. What real world reasons do people do that they need an M3 Ultra? (a proper reason vs its just shiny fast...

    Winter 2023/24 - It's FREEZING!

Fed up of Winter now - yes so many old chubby folks on here prefer it ;) but its just the worst time of year by a million miles, makes life hard, makes you feel tired, makes doing anything outside 10x more difficult, zero benefit to it - roll on spring & summer!!! Get my life back again !

    The Grand Tour

It was nice to watch, like an old pair of slippers that are comfy and give you that same old reassurance that you know what you're getting. Nothing new or clever, just good telly for middle aged blokes, watching those 3 do silly things in amazing places that on some level we all wish we could do...

A third of U25s haven't drunk alcohol in the past year

Makes sense, no one enjoys it really anymore, I used to have a drink in my 20's but its very limited these days and when I do I just feel wrecked for days, no particular benefit to it and I may just have the 1 small one for taste but have learned eventually that just the 1 is fine, you get the...

Cost of Living - Shrinkflation is speeding up at an alarming rate

Compared to now it was amazing. My food shop cost 1/2 what it does now - hell my entire monthly bills were about half - fuel was cheaper & I could have the freedom to roam to any country in Europe for as long as I wanted, had human rights up there with European human rights, I could live and...

Cost of Living - Shrinkflation is speeding up at an alarming rate

Genuinely think Brexit has contributed (I know this forum has some ultra righties who wont even consider this!) - but food imports have gone up tons due to us getting rid of frictionless trade, so they are trying to compensate by shrinkflation tactics to make it seem like not a lot has changed...

Has the recent £2.99 increase for ad free content made you re-assess your subscriptions?

Hate ads I will unsubscribe from Amazon next time round - its a great system for shopping but I can't ignore the damage its doing to small independent businesses, so ill choose to shop else where when possible. As for ads - I'm already paying them, they already made prime 99 instead of 79, why...

    Pentagon releases UFO footage

People still debate UFO's in this day and age? We live in a world where there is for the first time in history billions of high quality cameras, literally everywhere, 1080p minimum, absolutely nothing goes unphotographed or unfilmed and yet STILL the only footage that is seemingly...

    NHS=Negligent Health Service

Many of the views in this thread are scary as hell, some are sarcasm but some seemingly real views, what happened to humanity? Deeply disturbing stuff. If absolutely anyone thinks private health care is the way to go nationally & thinks that the Torys have had absolutely nothing to do with the...

Does anyone know a good brand of brake pad?

Great info, thanks so much ! Yes I've read its 235nm from other sources too - its actually a normal van that I converted, so I'm assuming its that high based on its potential cargo carrying capacity - however I'm no where near its maximum load weight & it's under 3500kg for licence limits.

When are you going fully electric?

I'll consider electric cars when the cars go fully disconnected from the net - I really dislike the control manufactures have to disable vehicles at will (as has happened in America numerous times with Tesla vehicles) - its an absolute breach of freedom, a vehicle isn't a commodity in which...

Does anyone know a good brand of brake pad?

Thanks all! Yes I've been keeping an eye on it for a while and have adjusted various times, it's not dragging any more but yes the rears wear faster - also the pads are smaller than the front wheels so likely a contributing factor to faster wear. While I'm here - anyone got a recommendation for...

Does anyone know a good brand of brake pad?

As title, I have a campervan - a Renault Master LWB Mk3 - and the rear brake pads are often worn quite quickly - mechanics checked them etc, its fine I just do a lot of adventures and travelling. However in the past couple of years iv just had a mechanic replace them but they seem to wear out...

Boot camp Windows 10 Pro licence

Windows activation is linked the the mainboard bios/registration number, usually, or a unique hardware key for the combination of your hardware - since you've not changed any hardware, windows activation knows your 'pc' is the same one you had before, therefor knows its licensed and has auto...
