    Lightweight cases

    Hi guys. I'm out of touch with pc hardware. I recall Lian Li making lightweight aluminium cases and I see they're still around. Are there other companies that make good quality cases out of lightweight materials? Cheers

    dell s3220dgf + Geforce 780ti on DP, but cannot select 144/165hz?

    Hi guys Just bought myself a Dell S3220DGF 32" 1440p gaming monitor. Happy with what I see, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to shift the refresh rate above 60Hz. The only two options Windows gives me are 59/60hz. I've updated my Geforce drivers to the latest version, I'm...

    1080p -> 4K... Big jump, what happened to 2K?!

    Aye I looked at that, but they are very much in the minority in the market. I'd have thought MSI, Asus, Gigabyte etc would all be pushing 2k screens Pinki, your understanding of res is a bit off mate. Res ultimately stands for the amount of pixels your graphics card has to drive A 1080p screen...

    1080p -> 4K... Big jump, what happened to 2K?!

    I'm confused, it's nearly 2017 and I have decided I might want to go the route of gaming laptops. The tech has come a long way and reflects favourably compared to it's desktop counterpart with the exception of the screens. G-Sync, 120Hz all exist but are in short supply; the year 2012 still...

    Is there any use for Physx now?

    Oh really, so even Nvidia has other irons in the fire. I'd not heard of flex before.

    Is there any use for Physx now?

    So my rig is ageing but I have a dedicated PhysX card in the form of a Geforce GT640 (DDR5) to supplement my current GTX 760 SLI setup. It was last used to good effect in Borderlands a few years back, but I don't recall any games of note that have used it since and I'm thinking of taking the...

    Spec me a HTPC

    Hi guys I'm not new to media centers, but in all honesty I've always gone for the easier route and bought things like my WD HD TV Live. Now though I'd like a HTPC. I'd like it to run Ubuntu with XBMC. There is a build of this that can be downloaded and installed in an easy step. My...

    Can you ID this spider?

    Looking at them on Google images I'm not sure it is, plus the web they appear to spin looks nothing like what this one has spun. My spider which I've named 'Burt' has made a web which is a big mess, no pattern to it that I can see.

    Intel SSD 520??

    Aye. I have a Intel 520 in my laptop. Works a treat. My scores seem a bit higher than yours but it could be because it's the 240Gb version. Usually the larger drives score a bit higher in benchmarks Make sure your SATA controller is in AHCI mode, and install the Intel Rapid Storage drivers :)

    Crucials new SSD! The M500! Pre-order for stock end of week!

    Yeah but the plain 840 really suffers in some areas due to the TLC flash.

    Crucials new SSD! The M500! Pre-order for stock end of week!

    It depends, if you read all of those reviews they are really raving about the 480Gb M500, but for most people that's probably larger and more expensive than they would need. The 240Gb M500 doesn't really compare that well to the 840 Pro sadly.

    Noisy 128GB m4

    Any money what you are actually hearing is electrical interference through the speakers of your laptop. That's usually caused by a poor earth somewhere. I can hear the same on my PC when using the onboard soundcard of my old mobo, which is the main reason I stopped using it and got a...
