Raspberry Pi - $35 Linux computer

Yeah works well. I've got shairport running on Arch instead: http://engineer.john-whittington.co.uk/2012/08/airpi-diy-airplay-speakers/ and I've heard installing on raspbmc works well too.

    rEFIt boot logos / labels

From doing it myself, I am fairly sure everything you want to do is explained in the docs linked in the readme: http://refit.sourceforge.net/doc/c3s1_icons.html http://refit.sourceforge.net/doc/c3s3_config.html

Who's joining the queue for iPad 2 on Friday then?

Out today in sunnies with the sun behind me reading an eBook I was pleasantly surprised to not struggle at all.

Who's joining the queue for iPad 2 on Friday then?

Managed to get a Comet order in back at the beginning of the week, I was a cheapskate and first free delivery was Tuesday. The wait is killing me now! And I'm not even around on Tuesday for the delivery :(

The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

When upgrading roms do you lose all your settings and apps? From what I've read it appears you don't, only your homescreen widgets. I'm on R3 and it runs fine, if I lose everything when I update I can't be bothered but it not I might as well.

T-Mobile / Orange Network share just enabled

Does anyone know whether Virgin Mobile will ever feel the effects of this? I know they use the T-Mobile network so wonder if the merge will expand it as a whole.

    ***Official Halo Reach Thread***

I noticed Legendary is a lot harder than previous too, I normally play through my first campaign on Legendary and have done on all previous but gave up after a couple of missions because it was frustrating rather than fun. I think it's because COOP is far better implemented and they want it to...

    Writing Apple Script

In my experience of batch editing iTunes stuff, Automator does a good job. The iTunes variables has things such as 'get current selection' and edit various 'get info' parameters. Might be worth a try, I think it will do what you want.

    Firefox running slooooooow

Clearing then limiting my history from 90 to 30 days solved my slow Firefox. For heavy users 90 days of history is massive and I guess with the address bar indexing it the way it does causes problems.

    my terminal name: unknown?

This happened to me and I found out that the prompt changes to the name assigned by your DHCP server so will vary depending on what network you are connected to. So like you say its a router thing so if you want you could change it there rather than change it within OS X. Another method rather...

    Excel for mac 2008 slow?

Recently had to use Excel for a lab report and found it painful, even copy and paste has a 5s lag. Speed wasn't my only issue with it though, they seem to have nurfed the charting wizard so you can't really do technical graphs, I guess they decided the Mac market just wanted pretty bar charts...

    File/Media Server

Your right, I'm pretty sure Amahi was it and even if it wasn't it does what I want! Thanks a lot, I was thinking I'd never find it again, that'll teach me to use bookmarks more.

    File/Media Server

Its not FreeNAS or ClarkConnect which I am in fact currently using. Its fine as a file server but I'm looking for more than that and this software I came across seemed to have all the mod cons. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a distro... From what I have come across and it isn't: Mediatomb...

    File/Media Server

Hi, I need help trying to remember the name of a file server I came across a few months ago. The website was pretty flash and I think it ran under Fedora. It featured, upnp, automatic network backups, web interface with streaming and lots more. I remember being impressed by it and thinking...

    Opacity setting IE

I've been doing some more fiddling and found the html iWeb writes refers to a javascript file which if removed stops internet explorer messing up when opacity is included. Removing it ruins the navigation bar though so I need to keep it. I searched through the file and found instances of...

    Opacity setting IE

Ok I have edited two of my pages so the opacity reads as, I've done this on this page and this page . You should see the problem I'm talking about when you view them using IE but see what they are meant to look like in another browser. If you go on any other pages in Firefox you will notice...

    Opacity setting IE

I've just built a website for myself using iWeb09. The website includes an opaque box in the navigation bar on each page. I finished building it and was happy with the finished product until I checked it in IE. Unfortunaty all the opaque boxes become exploded and mess up the navigation bar...
