    DDR5 Zen5 pre-purchase

I'm looking to grab some sticks now, but I don't know what I should be looking for seeing as I'm on AM4. I'll be upgrading board & cpu and when the X3D zen5 parts are available, whatever the 16c part is (8950X3D)? I'm looking for highest capacity 6000Mhz+ rated sticks, what are my options...

    Sony XR55A80JU Bravia, 55 inch

No need to take a chance on it my man - I have it, and it's a really nice TV. I've been delighted with it (had it about a year). Good resampling of HD content, top notch display, nice thin bezel, lots of config options, understands HDR colour profiles from different formats, 120Hz variable...

Any low hanging fruit left in this 128G OC @ 1900 FCLK?

For the timings ending in DD|SD anything lower than the values in the previous post and the system wouldn't post The other values had an amount of leeway but on longer burn tests I saw a few errors and felt I was starting to see minimum returns from the time being invested in more benching and...

Any low hanging fruit left in this 128G OC @ 1900 FCLK?

So just to complete this after a year or so of running the tuned/stable XMP on these sticks - here's where things ended up after benching and burn. This equates to about a 5-6% performance uplift in e.g. linpack type workloads versus the non tuned XMP profile. Thanks again @MrPils :D

****The Official 5G Home Broadband Thread**** (Three/EE/Vodafone/etc)

I found that the signal strength varies a lot relative to small position adjustments. For example I'm currently using the window sucker mount and even 1 notch rotation either way or just 2cm up/down/left/right can affect gain/strength/quality by a few dBm.

Someone suggested fast.com can be a bit generous on speed calcs, here's the ookla/speedtest just after I saw that 1.2Gb/s result:

Yeah, the public IPv4 addr is assigned to the WAN interface on my router. I think it can be a bit buggy though, once or twice in testing some settings it assigned a local private IP, not sure if it's a real bug or whether it was something to do with the settings I'd applied. In this case...

No CGNat, public IPv4 assigned to my WAN interface - I've maxed my USG-3 throughput at quiet times:

Actually forget all that, see my follow up post on the ISPReview thread, you can toggle bridge mode once you deactivate the modem in the UI https://www.ispreview.co.uk/talk/threads/zte-mc801a-review.37993/post-270831

****The Official 5G Home Broadband Thread**** (Three/EE/Vodafone/etc)

Bridge mode works fine, found a thread on ISPReview and a link to an Italian YouTube channel where the dude tears down the device, he's also written some JS to enable a few things hidden from the UI in Three's firmware (including enabling the option for bridge mode)...

I've read there was supply issues, but also there's a newer version of the ZTE - the MCE802 or something, so Three might have just got a good deal on this model. The Huawei ban is on infrastructure equipment mast/tower base stations and backhaul networking gear that sort of thing... *maybe*...

My Three ZTE MC801A arrived this week - promising... 2x 1Gb RJ45, 1x RJ11 (3 state this is disabled in current firmware), 2x TS9 antenna connections (antenna only works at 3300-3800Mhz, so 5G only) APN addition/selection is not locked, Bridge mode setting is disabled (at least in the UI...

    Alder Lake-S leaks

I mean there's other reasons - pumping the cash cow for captured markets etc, tech debt doesn't get paid down if there's no urgent or compelling reason.

Clearly not because the majority, if not all, of their titles are noted by their terrible performance characteristics.

    Windows 11 Ryzen chipsets

So Windows with Hyper-V enabled is less performant (not a real word but hey-ho it's a word in tech scenes anyway) than Windows without. There's valid reasons for this so whatever. With the scheduler fix and latest AMD chipset driver to recognise the "best" cores I'm pretty much back to Windows...

    Alder Lake-S leaks

The year 2010 is calling and wants it's Intel corp misinformation back. Game engines have been moving to ECS architecture (and others) for over a decade, the benefits being greater parallelism & concurrency, and lower latency for state / action / systems updates. This is a scalable design that...
