I'm on my third playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3. Although having said that, I haven't actually completed the game yet. Both previous playthroughs I restarted around 2 thirds through as I don't want to complete the story just yet! Also playing Forza Motorsport on PC and Gran Turismo 7 on PS5. I'm...
From my perspective over the last 20 years it feels like the risk has shifted from the basic cheap cars which can easily be stolen using basic tools to the more high end stuff. In the early 2000's my mums Rover Metro was stolen, likely by kids as it had minimal security. Our other cars which had...
They are well equipped compared with their rivals and the petrol version is very reliable. I have a 2015 Mazda 3 saloon which shares the same engine. Compared with diesels and turbo petrol's it'll probably feel quite sluggish but it's not marketed as a performance car anyway.
I'm in a similar situation. I get 20Mb/2Mb on my FTTC connection and can get around 100/25 via 4G with Three. Pings are slightly higher but I don't do any competitive online gaming so that's not an issue. I haven't been able to ditch the landline completely though as the 4G connection is nowhere...
In the mid 2000's I had a HTC Universal running Windows mobile. It felt more like a very cut down laptop than a smartphone. I remember having Tomtom sideloaded onto it with an external Bluetooth GPS receiver when I went on holiday to the US. My mobile contract came with only 20MB data which was...
Although it's early access there's still loads of content. It's just missing the story and endgame which should come once v1 is released. That's still a long way off though. I find it a very relaxing game to play as you can go at your own pace. With the latest update you can now customise your...
For a home file server I don’t think there’s much benefit. In theory it is possible that data being read/written to disk could have random bits flipped from 0 to 1 and vice versa but it’s very unlikely. It’s even less of a problem if you’re also backups of important data elsewhere.
It would have been so much easier if they just abolished car tax and stuck a few p more on fuel duty. I guess it’s here to stay so the government can easily start taxing all the electric cars once uptake increases.
If ECC is important to you a cheap AM4 system is an option. I’m using a Ryzen 5 1600AF and an ASRock board which supports ECC RAM. Idle power usage tends to be a bit higher than a typical Intel system but it’s better under load.
I’m very close to being able to live without a car. Since Covid I’ve been working from home. I get my shopping delivered. The car is only really used weekends for leisure. Since it’s sitting on the drive most of the time I’m contemplating downsizing to something like a Toyota Aygo which will...
Hopefully it won’t be too long until official mod support. One thing I find really annoying is the lack of ability to fine tune traffic lights. If a lane is trying to cross oncoming traffic it all gets snarled up.
Baldurs gate 3 for me. Prior to release I couldn’t have cared less as I wasn’t a fan of the genre. I picked it up to see what all the fuss was about and got hooked.
I have the single fan version of the 34 eSports Duo and have no problem cooling my 5800X with little noise. I'd check out the fan curve in the bios to quieten it down a bit at higher temperatures.
We had a long chat yesterday and 413x was right. She had been thinking about it for a while and was beyond the point where we could work things out and remain together. Right now I'm feeling ok about it. Probably because I was keeping my mind busy discussing finances. Trying to work out how she...
Deep down I think you're right. I'm just trying to stay positive at the moment for that slim possibility that we might be able to make amends. Otherwise my mental health takes a nosedive and feel sick and restless. We're not going to have a proper talk about it until Sunday so I don't want too...
It looks like I’ll soon be heading for divorce after 12 years of marriage and my mental health has been all over the place. I’m constantly going between feeling positive that we can make amends to feeling utterly depressed. It’s all a bit of a shock as I didn’t see it coming. Over the last month...
Just had my renewal quote from Direct Line. £360 compared with £220 last year - so a 65% increase. Been with them for the last 10+ years as they were normally the cheapest come renewal time. Lowest they would go was £280 so moved to Tesco for £210.
