Thanks guys.....yes it will be a RAID 1 setup with dedicated RAID controller. One final Q, would I have any advantage if I installed a gigabit LAN card and went to a Gigabit (unmanaged) Switch, given that the rest of the house network (5 machines) are 10/100 or 802/11. Cheers. John.

Help. My LCD combo monitor has just lost its TV tuner....all I get on TV is a gradualy more intense white screen, am unable to get into menu either (TV mode). I can however use the video i/p's and the PC monitor i/p. Any ideas or a direction for a repair/maint manual would be apreciated...

Yeh I see your point two NIC is going to be a pain... If I went to GigaNIC would that not mean I would need to swap my switch out for a GigaNIC, (then cables and the other NIC's eventualy)........ I suppose that if the Switch were Giga then the data rate to the switch would be able to...

Q. What would be the benefit in terms of overall network speed if I were to add an extra NIC to my simple file sharing machine and fed that also to my switch (guess I would need a cros-over for that). The machine is XP pro running RAID 1 and performs no other function than to share files...
