Tory MP Sir David Amess murdered

Really shocked by this. I can’t understand why MPs don’t have security. I really hope he pulls through. It is not looking good if he hasn’t been transferred to hospital.

Spanish Grand Prix 2021, Catalunya - Race 4/23

Unless there are plenty of races with rain, this season is going to be very dull. Mercedes are obviously miles ahead still.

Extinction Rebellion: Jury acquits protesters despite judge's direction

Completely agree. There will be some big businesses/individuals now worried that their property is no longer safe in the UK.

Extinction Rebellion: Jury acquits protesters despite judge's direction

You do realise that it is not mandatory for a court to activate a suspended sentence for the commission of a further offence don’t you? In fact, the fact that a sentence sentence is almost completed would be a relevant factor in deciding whether or not to activate it.

Extinction Rebellion: Jury acquits protesters despite judge's direction

I agree with this, if the jury acquitted on the basis that the defendants didn’t commit the act or have the requisite intent then fair enough. However, from reading the article I don’t think that was the case here. The jury effectively had 3 questions from the Criminal Damage Act. Firstly...

Extinction Rebellion: Jury acquits protesters despite judge's direction

Good post. That is how I read it. Quite worryingly, where a jury can decide an act is fine as long as the target is one that the jury decides deserved it could apply to any offence and not just damage to property. What next, a jury finding activists not guilty for assault where no defence...

Extinction Rebellion: Jury acquits protesters despite judge's direction

In the news today I see six Extinction Rebellion protesters were cleared of causing criminal damage, despite the jury being told by the judge there was no defence in law for their actions. Activists targeted Shell's London HQ, claiming the oil firm was directly contributing to climate change...

Shame, the boxing on Sky was the only boxing I really followed. Not paying for anymore subscriptions. Tbf UFC have been killing it during lockdown anyway.

The New European Super (borefest) League

I agree, in a couple of years they will try it again with all 15 clubs confirmed first. I wouldn’t be sorry to see UEFA gone tbh.

Derek Chauvin murder trial (Police officer who arrested George Floyd)

With it being so quick, I think they will come back with guilty of second degree murder (not seen any of the trial). I think the jury will be too frightened to come back with anything less given the interference from politicians.

Will be over before the night is over, the bottle merchants strike again! Now time the players took paycuts to bring ticket and TV subscription prices down.

The New European Super (borefest) League

The top end players will be loving this idea behind closed doors. Players and their agents are no better than the owners with their insatiable greed pushing up ticket and the subscription prices.

Thx I thought they had said no, too much to keep up with. I thought it strange how they just didn’t announce full 15 straight away.

Why can't professional footballers take corners?

Will be interesting to see what corners look like in the future when heading eventually banned. The footballers could make good use of their diving capabilities to avoid the ball hitting their head or arms.
