The only review I’ve seen had about a 1°c reduction from MX-4 so I put it mainly down to the offset. If the cores weren’t boosting higher I think the temperature drop would be bigger too.

I’ve seen it done that way as well so that the fan cools the M2 slot rather than the VRM which ain’t a bad idea.
