How much of your income goes on rent/mortgage?

33% on rent alone. Including commute, food and bills this is like 75%. Sucks.

    Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

What do people think of our UK banks as buy-ins? BARC, LLOY and RBS all tanked in recent week down to the volatility in Europe.

Riots in Tottenham, London! (NO RACIST COMMENTS)

It's such a shame that we can't guarantee the safety of police officers and let them use force. Retribution is needed, these kids need to know there are consequences to their actions. Such a terrible image of England.

    How far would you commute

Mine's an easy 20min drive on 1 road for 10 miles. It's great. I've commuted in the past for a 35min journey, and if it gets to about 50mins it begins to wear thin. For more money, or better prospects I'd commute 50mins, distance doesn't matter.

    Google has changed....

I think the new grey Google bar (underneath the black bar) looks awesome. It works really well in Google Maps, which looks like it was built as an app, lovely. Apart from that, it's all a bit hit and miss for me. I'll wait for the end result... :)

    Chris Moyles Longest Show

I really like Chris Moyles - have been a bit addicted to checking up the status on this, even watching on the red button this morning, well played to them. Can't wait to see how shattered they are tonight.

    Flat Rental Advice

Hah, if we're playing the guessing game, my vote goes for Guildford at that price, maybe Weybridge where there's less choice and just as high price. Good luck in your search, most things I looked out for have been echoed in this thread.

Does anyone live in/near King's Lynn?

There's plenty of OcUKers around Cambridge if you fancy a 45min train journey out of 6-finger county. I'm sure a meetup could be arranged. But locally, what's wrong with the traditional way? College con amigos.

    Places to live

Semi-pro waster, you've got me thinking about my living situation a bit more now. Soon to be renting a ~£725pcm property on a combined net income of £27,000 (after tax/deductions). That's 33% of our income gone on rent and not including bills. If you want to spend £600pcm on a nice place to...

    Places to live

Is that £400-600pcm each? Also, the Midlands is quite a broad stretch of land, are you not tied to any location or any area within that?

    Words that aren't real?

Majoritively I think it has its uses as a real word. You'd majoritively use it in situations when saying how something is mainly something else, simple. Not a word.
