    Mortgage Rate Rises

Back in April I was annoyed at having to refix at 3.99% after watching it drop from the highs of ~6% following the disaster that was the mini budget... now it looks like I may have done OK. I just hope that in 5 years time things are a bit more stable... we can but hope!

    Solar panel production figures

With 1 poor day left of July looks like June may well be my best month for this year, cant see August beating it. This is my first full year of having solar installed, overall happy with the performance and will hit the numbers given to me when it was all planned.

    Halfords socket set

Lost the foam for mine ages ago, and yes all the sockets do now fall out :) Been a brilliant set though, had it for over 10 years and still going strong.

Recommend me a new ISP please

Another reason I like to stick with them where possible, £5 and done. I only left them 2 years back for Zen because at the time they was not offering FTTP.

Recommend me a new ISP please

Ironically I managed to get 900/120 from Plusnet a few months back for £41.99! Worth giving them a call and see what they can do before jumping ship?

    Solar panel production figures

Looks like June is going to be my best month for the year, cant see August beating it even if the sun does come out due to the heat. Managed 694kWh in May, 757kWh in June compared to 428kWh in July MTD, going to be lucky to see 600kWh which I was not expecting (4.25kWh system)

    Solar panel production figures

I also had a go at moving some usage around just for the saving session, planned it perfectly so that the battery was empty at the right time and then fully filled it, washing machine, dishwasher, tumble drier and both heat pumps on. Id call it a success!! Will be interesting to see the next...

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

For those of us using home assistant to upload to PVOutput, any idea how I get it to log the peak output value? Everyone else in the team seems to have it logged but its missing from mine... I guess I am missing something in the script, can anyone enlighten me? :)

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

Yep! :p November has been a proper mixed bag though, all over the place in terms of generation. Still fighting to get Eco7 activated then I will start force charging the battery and load shifting washing/dishes to overnight.

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

Friday was a good day for late November! Not a bit of shading in site :) 13.1kWh generated from a 4.25 array. Shame I wasn't home as could have run another load for free :p

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

Sorry been away this week! Its really easy, I ordered an RS485 adaptor (£5 from Ama) and then you just need to cut the end off an RJ45 cable and wire white/blue to A and blue to B on the adaptor. Finally plug into the RS485-2 port on the Growatt (usually spare) and set the mode to VPP.

Most of the main settings can now be edited via Solar Assistant, the developer is actively improving support all the time. Changelog - https://solar-assistant.io/help/updates/changelog

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

The Growatt app is pretty flaky, the good news however is Growatt is very well supported by Solar Assistant which runs locally on a Pi and is very good :) I run both side by side but never really open the Growatt app anymore.
