Does anybody else donate to Wikipedia or am I an idiot?

More fool you I think OP. At the very start yes your donation would have been worthy. As has been pointed out they have a pile of cash and also the value of their content is dubious and varies. Not sure if it is actually trustworthy as a source of accurate information.

Looking for outside opinion - Free Disabled bus travel with carer

Yes I think you’re on to a much bigger problem than the “double charging”. It will be potential litigation where the company is sued if something occurs to a disabled person who has been certified to be unable to travel without a carer but who has nevertheless been permitted to travel.

Looking for outside opinion - Free Disabled bus travel with carer

I’m maybe wrongly thinking of London but isn’t TFL taxpayer funded too? So it’s just moving taxpayer funding from one pot to another? Unless there are complaints of a lack of funding for disabled passes due to this double charge occasionally occurring I can’t see the problem. I guess you could...

Looking for outside opinion - Free Disabled bus travel with carer

I haven’t quite understood the problem. Disabled person gets free travel card. Disabled person who qualifies for a carer/has a career applies for the “+carer” version. Disabled person with valid +carer extension uses transport without a carer. What is the actual loss suffered by the card...

Is East London a dangerous place to live?

It’s a dump where you went. I’d never willingly go there and unsurprised by your story. Pro tip- in London do not engage the locals in abuse. Best case is what happened today. Worst case is Newham is the last place you ever go.

Is murder sometimes not murder on the grounds of diminished responsibility?

Yes, it is a defence at law to murder. The onus is on the defendant to raise it and then generally speaking if successful a manslaughter conviction will be the result. As to content of your post re serious mental illness insanity is also a defence. You’d get a trial of guilty act as incapable...

How much has your council tax gone up this year?

About 5%. I wouldn’t object to council tax being significantly increased further if it means no potholes, clean streets, libraries fully functioning, playgrounds and parks kept in good order and the types of things everyone can use. I noted a £400 “adult social care” charge and wondered what...

    Garden fence

NEIGHBOUR DISPUUUUUUTE! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!! Tying a bit of string to the fence for things like plants is perfectly normal. If it breaks the flimsy looking solid concrete post then they will have to pay to fix it. Don’t sweat it. Just leave it.
