Oven - we got B57CR22N0B, thoroughly recommend Hob - we got T40B31X2GB. Very powerful and functional, but the interface is a bit frustrating at times. Dishwasher - we got Beko DW663. Highly recommend. Cutlery drawer at the top is awesome.

    Wirelessly connecting light switches

Hi folks, Just had the wall knocked down between dining room and kitchen and that's working really well. One thing I didnt think of in advance was the way the lighting works with the two rooms. It's still completely separate - we have one switch by the entrance to the new room that controls...

Pick up new car or wait until 1st March?

I'd wait 7 months for a 65 plate, you'd hate to have a 15 plate car and then see all those lovely 65 plates just a few months later.

How best to run central heating this winter?

Sorry, this is just rubbish. Whatever the insulation value, the energy loss is proportional to the square of the temperature difference between the house and the outside.

    Overtaking a police van

Dual carriageway refers to separation between both directions of traffic, not the number of lanes.

Ad @ Chinese Grand Prix 2013

Greats shots. My experience of three GP so far is the Chinese trounced them all. The hairpin is a great spectator position (although I think T1 was pretty good this year), with consistantly exciting races.

    Moving a window

Thanks I will-do. I was guessing the answer could be "maybe", but I was kinda hoping someone would come on and say "no way would that need planning permission".

    Moving a window

Hi all, I want to put a conservatory up, on which the planning and building regs requirements are clear. However I therefore need to move my kitchen window by 1-2 ft. Do I need planning permission for this? Or structural regs? Thanks!

Cant balance out monthly shops - thinking of trying a butchers for the meat.

I just ran this list of meat through Asda for comparison. Not the smart price stuff, Asda "extra special". That came out at £35.83. So the supermarket's regular price is a chunk cheaper than the deal, and well under half of that online butcher's regular price. Of course you can say that the...

IMPORTANT news about watching F1 on sky this season

That's really quite cool. Especially for one-off things like F1 and/or champions league. How good quality do the streams on those things go?

Is the time right for horsemeat to make a proper appearance?

My other half ate some burgers that could have been horse meat yesterday, and immediately didn't feel well, but fortunately now she's in a stable condition. I tried to take them back today, but unfortunately it looks like we're saddled with them. It’s an unbridled disaster.
