    Hello from London this week

And Amsterdam as of Saturday. I've been infrequently on here for quite a while, though I used to post (a lot of crap) 10 odd years ago. To be fair not really been using my PC much for quite a while (since I got my Xbox), though I keep thinking of getting a SFF box. (PC isn't coming with, but...

    Learning Japanese

Kanji is hard, I haven't used it in quite a while, and have forgotten a lot of it. Hiragana / Katakana and grammer (bunpou) are easy. Other people i know have picked it up from Anime, comic books and the like. Though some people can speak Engrish ;) well, once out of major cities the chances...

    Anyone done Amsterdam recently ?

Van Gough and the Rijksmuseum are probably both worth a shout. If you plan to visit Anne Franks house, get there early, queues are huge. Other than that you have a fair few suggestions already. Taxis are expensive (especially unsolicited) and unnecessary. Public transport is very good, and...

    Sensible next move?

I think you'd be lucky to get £3k for your SV at a dealer, they've got to get it ready to sell, then offer a warranty on it. Other than that; All bikes seem to have increased substantially recently, and with our exchange rate buggered, I can only see prices going up further, this will have a...

Worth waiting for 2016 MacBook Pro for USB-C?

Wouldn't a Macbook rather than the Pro suffice for this sort of thing?

    Post Your Chicken Strips

Yes you can, my sister took her restricted VFR400 out on track several times, and yes she'd get blasted past on the straights she enjoyed herself. http://www.peterwilemanphotography.com/main/index/detail/1112143 That was at Le Mans, she took a GSX-R 600 out on track after than and loved...

*** Show us your bikes! ***

The TL 1000 in standard trim might not handle brilliantly, but it'll not cost a lot to sort The SP1 & SP2 are not light bikes, and underpowered in todays terms The Mille can be had for far less than the SP1 / SP2 and handles better than the TL. That being said, I have an SP1 & an SP2.... :p

    Mirrored visors: cool, or squid?

I've got a dark smoke on my Arai GP, and a mirrored on my Shoei NXR The Arai is now my spare / track lid, the Shoei is my every day one. I only got the mirrored on the Shoei because they didn't have a dark smoke in stock when I bought the Lid, but I'm just as happy with the mirrored one.

    Damage assessment advice please

The ombudsman will only get involved if you've followed their complaints procedure first, you can't just get the ombudsman involved to speed things up. Get details of their complaints procedure and initiate it. Once this has been followed, you can lodge a case with the ombudsman (which...

want to buy one of these, what do i do?

That's not correct. My sisters VFR400 (NC30) and a friends' CBR400RR both required restricting to 33BHP. (washers in the inlets). Without the restriction they are closer to 55-60BHP

    MV Brutale Insurance

Personally I don't think it's a good idea; New riders are more likely to crash through inexperience (predominantly panicing) With a faster more powerful bike it's likely to be a bigger accident As you get older it takes longer to heal 1st years NCB is where you're likely to get your...

    New Bike Decision.

If you're going brand new, I certainly would go FC on the insurance, 9K is a hell of a lot to risk on a TPO...... As to which bike, test ride them both and get what you like more, you only live the once. Both bikes will be more than capable of what you want :)
