ATI tools can be a bit finicky with the 2xxx cards as they use 2 different clock settings 2d and 3d, so by openining ati tools the card will clock itself to the 3d settings and of course temps will begin to rise which isnt a problem if your fan speeds are set right. If for some bizzare reason...

I'm using the 7.8s with my HIS 2900 and have my monitors to turn off after 20 mins I leave my system on over night and its allways fine in the morning, I'm not having any problems with the system locking up and restarting, so maybe its a power management setting in your BIOS thats the cause.

Agreed you can suspend your cables behind the board and attach your power strips to the wall/board leaving only the ups showing. Grab some of these from your friendly neighbourhood retailer about a tenner for a bag of 100 1" diameter sef adhesive cable clips.

Have you got both the 8 pin and 6 pin (or 2x 6 pin) power connectors plugged in to the HD2900XT, if not it wont boot. Made the same mistake when intalling mine stumped me for 10 min :D Edit: oops read you tried a diff card

Average FPS in buildings demo was 85 and in short demo 79. about 10fps increase. All settings maxed @ 1280x1024

Installing to test now, my stalker avg FPS was 79 @1280x1024 max settings with the 7.6's so we will see how i fair with these :D

Do these offer any improvement over the 7.7's? I've allready rolled back to the 7.6's as the 7.7's caused too many problems.
