    What to do with money?

All details can be found in the link I posted, which also links to the FSCS site. It looks like OP would be covered

Insurers who ask for accidents in the last 3 years?

Direct Line are interested in claims in the last 3 years and convictions/penalties in the last 5

    JLR vehicle subscription

If that's the case (claiming from own business) then, as you say, at most it's only his marginal income tax rate that he's saving on that figure of £23k, so up to £10'350 saving (+NI). But he's unlikely to be an additional rate tax payer if he's self employed as you'd have to be insane to pay...

Images of items I have purchased (except trainers)

I spent so many hours on Network Q RAC Rally Championship and Worms United as a kid. Loved those games :D

    The nervous wait to exchange....

There might be restrictive covenants in the deeds that cover what you can/can't do with the land. Those restrictions would apply over and above any planning permission that may be granted. If there are any restrictions, it's not uncommon for them to expire after a certain time period (i.e. a...

    Re-mortgaging!

Are you likely to cross over a LTV threshold in the next few years? Mortgages typically get cheaper as LTV decreases so if you're going to reach a milestone like 75% or 60% LTV in the next couple of years it might be better to fix for that period and then remortgage again

Detective OCUK forums! Help me find this registration of this close pass driver.

So how close was the car to OP in that case and how much closer would the car have passed if OP was further left? OP is positioned where he should be. Any cycle training will teach that position rather than riding in the gutter...

Detective OCUK forums! Help me find this registration of this close pass driver.

This is obviously quite a polarising case (and topic in general) Out of curiosity, would you (or anyone else with the same view) care to put an estimated distance on how close you think the door mirror came to the rider's arm, and how much closer would they have to have come for it to be an issue?

Detective OCUK forums! Help me find this registration of this close pass driver.

I can't imagine that was more than 2ft from his arm. probably less. It's slightly easier to infer the distance from the rear camera. A slight wobble or a pothole there and it would not have ended well. Having experience of passes like that I can't imagine many would be so blasé about it if they...

ASUS ROG strix 550F bios 1004 stops usb ports working?!?!?

I'm on 1002 and didn't notice a problem with that version, but it looks like they pulled 1002 and replaced it with 1004 a few days later  I haven't upgraded to 1004 yet. No idea what they're playing about at with the BIOS releases.

Anything more suitable than a 4-series GC?

Thanks for the suggestions/tips everyone! I was initially put off the 3GT by the looks, but I'll take another look as I may have written that one off too soon. A5 is also an interesting one. My old boss had one and it seemed like a nice car. Didn't think I'd get one in this budget but will take...

Anything more suitable than a 4-series GC?

Hi all, I'm looking at upgrading from my 11yr old Fiesta to something larger/more refined. The 4 series GC has caught my eye as it seems to tick a lot of boxes: - Hatchback + large boot (I need to fit a bicycle + luggage in the back leaving at least one rear seat up) - Enough rear passenger...

8 PACK MEMORY RANGE GROWING: SAY HELLO TO 8 PACK RIPPED EDITION & 32GB KITS!!!

Thanks for the response! tRDWR and tWRRD are indeed Auto. I backed off to D.O.C.P/Auto settings and these are still 18/7, respectively. It sounds like that doesn't bode well for tuning potential based on your reply?

8 PACK MEMORY RANGE GROWING: SAY HELLO TO 8 PACK RIPPED EDITION & 32GB KITS!!!

Both configs are stable in memtest86+, full 4 pass test if that's what you're asking? (and daily use, i.e. Battlefield V and Anno 1800).

8 PACK MEMORY RANGE GROWING: SAY HELLO TO 8 PACK RIPPED EDITION & 32GB KITS!!!

I recently bought the 32GB kit (2x16GB, 3600C16) and have been playing around with tightening the timings. I've had some success so far, but am a bit confused over the lack of measurable difference between these two configs: stable @ 1.45v stable @ 1.50v Everything looks so close that I...

What's your Views on this new roundabout

See my post earlier in the thread. It was meant to be £800k. Hard to see how it would have been signed off if they went in with an estimate of £2.4m, but the council do like throwing money at pointless projects so maybe they still would have.

Car insurance- why so high in the UK!

My car insurance came down significantly when I added my wife as a second driver. Same when my sister added her boyfriend as a second driver - she got a partial refund mid-term for adding him. Do you know anyone who might want to drive the car from time to time who you could add to the insurance?

What's your Views on this new roundabout

There are a number of roundabouts along that stretch of road (A1134 for anyone who wants to look it up). I also cycle a lot in and around Cambridge and that roundabout was one of the better ones (before the work). Never registered as even a slight issue when cycling. The one just up the road...
