I had a thought. The driver cd that came with the motherboard wont have windows 7 drivers on it .... would it? Going to download the win7 drivers and try and get the sata drives to show up on installation.

I had to hook up an old ide dvd player to boot Windows 7 from. But I am still stuck as the installation could not find any sata hard drives to install on. Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2P

Cheers rp. The data would be very frequent, as frequent as possible really but the amount of data would not be much. It would be some result data not a whole database at once.
