Taking paper with info into an exam.

I did some invigilation at a university the other month and was surprised to see one set of students were allowed to take in a sheet of A4 paper covered in notes. Some of them wrote really, really, small and had a ton of stuff on them. Don't disadvantage yourself, if they are letting you...

Body Worlds & The Mirror Of Time

I went to see it in Manchester earlier this year. Was quite interesting but it seemed more arty than educational. To be honest they just looked like a load of plastic models, except with super high detail. If you didn't know they were real bodies you could almost think they'd been made. Was...

The all things Anime related thread.

Saikano has to be one of the most utterly depressing and harsh anime I have ever watched, and I've watched Now and Then, Here and There, so that's saying something. I actually had to stop watching it at one point and come back later as it was too upsetting and brutal.

    Final Fantasy games

Personally I couldn't pick between 5-10 as I enjoyed them all as much as the other.

Hellboy II - The Golden Army

Watched it this afternoon. Though it was pretty good, about as good as I was expecting really, it is Hellboy after all. Some good trailers before though, The Day the Earth Stood Still and Watchmen.

I'm not going to have much spare time though, so if I am watching something again I want it to be incredible, like Ghost in the Shell (which I could watch for the music alone) or Last Exile (for flying ships and gorgeous art). I could happily watch both on repeat. Other stuff while still...

I sold Steamboy, it wasn't a re-watch for me. The rest are old or not epic enough. I love Azumanga but it isn't really something I would watch again. It's a great show but I've seen it once. Place Promised was beautiful but a bit light on story. I'll probably be picking up Kiddy Grade again...

So, I've nearly sold all my anime now. Got about 350 discs left out of 3500. I really want to keep some of the best of the best though so I'm looking for suggestions of the flashiest, most impressive, best storyline, best looking anime series to keep. Stuff I've already decided on...

    Interview Criticism

Beard or no beard, there is no stubble. Nothing wrong with facial hair as long as it looks like you're actually cultivating it and not like you just couldn't be ***** having a shave. I got a job a couple of weeks ago even with my stupid beard, but it's pretty clear that it's a beard and not...

**SPOILERS** WANTED - Out Today !!!

Watched it tonight. I was a bit dubious about going as it looked like a stupid unrealistic over-the-top action film, and it was exactly as I expected it to be. The odd thing was I really enjoyed it. Cracking action scenes, the story wasn't as stupid as it sounded and once again, cracking...

Yep, it's perfectly safe. I did it when I first bought something from them 2+ years ago and never had a problem since. They are even good if you parcel goes missing. I've had a couple of £200+ orders replaced when they vanished during shipping. Not that I buy anime any more though. :(

SPEC ME A sci-fi/comedy type show

Babylon 5 Babylon 5 Babylon 5 Oh and give Stargate SG-1 another chance as well, it's pretty good once you get into the characters, although it can be a bit Star Trekie with them visiting new places all the time.

Anyone off to see Hancock this week?

Just got back from seeing this, absolutely fantastic film, a nice mix of comedy, action and story. Thought the twist was quite good, as was the end of the film. Some of the effects were impressive, some a bit too CG although their was nothing wrong with Charlize  Nice to see a super hero...
