    Best video doorbell....

Much thoughts on Eufy? Saw some worrying security concerns with them a year or so ago. They were top of my list until I read that as they offered a no subscription service with local storage, etc. Shame.

    Anyone suffer from plantar fasciitis?

I think this is what I have, and I've had it for months. I think mine started during pre-season rugby training using long studs when the ground was still firm. I've basically put up with it, but essentially in the morning and after sitting down when I try to walk I have to use the ball of my...

    Best video doorbell....

Hi all - Moved in here in September and have recently had new Windows/Doors fitted. When the new front door was fitted we lost the Dor bell button as it was mounte inside the frame. There's a seperate switch int he fuse box for the doorbell. I'd replace to replace the Doorbell with a modern...

    Water Meter

Think I can beat it.... Moved in here in Sept. 4 Bed dettached house without a meter. £161.65 a MONTH! Queried it, tried to argue it with Wessex Water and get them to reduce the rate, but they refused unless I had a meter fitted. Meter has now been fitted, so I'm hoping it is a LOT less than that.

Does anyone know of anywhere you cans still buy the Batmobile? The one from the first 2 with Michael Keaton?

Water Bill - Anyone beat this?

Moved into this house in Sept. 2x Adults and 2x Kids. No meter so was on some estimated rates price... £160 A MONTH!! Tried to get them to reduce it but they refused unless we got a meter fitted. So I've crumbled and got a meter fitted now. Last place was metered and was about £56 a month I...

How much has your council tax gone up this year?

    Not overly happy... 13.6% increase.

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

What's confusing is that I thought a few months ago they stated the price of oil/Gas had reduced and was on a decline, yet the rates we are offered have not improved. Another eyebrow raise is some of the profits the Energy companies post (boast). So despite the cry of fuel price hikes for when...

    Mortgage Rate Rises

Thanks, that makes me feel a little bit easier. I was glad I had an 'Agreement in Principle' at 4.02% which they honoured as the sale/purchase took months and the rates had gone up massively since. Yep, its a horrible decision to make, particularly if the rates nose dive and you work out how...

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

Is it worth shopping around for a better deal yet? I used to move every couple of years using MSE Energy Club, not had a notification from them for a while now and it appears they've paused it until competitive rates are available again.... I'm currently with Ovo on the 'Simpler Energy' plan...

    Mortgage Rate Rises

Rates are definitely starting to come down... I gambled on a 5 year fix last Sept @ 4.02%. At the time, the 2 year fixed/trackers were a much higher rate, so I factored in having to renew every 2 years with £999 product fee's, etc. I hope I don't live to regret fixing for 5 years at 4.02% in a...

    Retrofit wet UFH

I've been considering the retrofit option, but reading around people seem to state that you lose too much heat downwards without at least 100mm Insulation. Has anyone actually fitted the retrofit methods (On slim insulation boards or milling the existing concrete slab for the pipes) and can...

So, this post office palaver then

Watching today's questions briefly to me seems Fujitsu should also take a large proportion of blame for this fiasco. They were aware of bugs that would cause the financial shortages/discrepancies in the Horizon system. Also evidence of covering up/amending data and statements to strengthen...

    Pic: Your desk...RIGHT NOW

Another shout for Flexispot form me. I got the E6 model a while ago and it has been faultless. I got it from them direct (you get a discount for signing up to their email mailing list and they often have sales/reductions) which seem to give better prices. Their after sales has been spot on as...

Project: Two storey/part single storey side and rear extensions

Can't believe the builder chirps that line at you. I'd be reminding him who the customer is, who's house it is and who's the one paying his wage. Additionally if he told me to *** ** in my own house I'd send him packing. IT worker or not, if you were performing badly or doing things how the...

Project: Two storey/part single storey side and rear extensions

Jesus wept. How and why did the plumber do any of those? Was the bath already in situ when he fitted the towel rail? Was it not realised the towel rail would be there before the tiling was done? The pipe work for the towel rail looks awful. The tap situation is comical. He wants shooting. Who...

Project: Two storey/part single storey side and rear extensions

Agreed. Each time I see you update the thread I have my fingers crossed you have some good news and am following the thread with interest. What happened to the project manager you tried to appoint? Did the builder just refuse to work with them? I notice in your above post you referenced a...

    OcUK Dadsnet thread

Looking to get my 2x daughter's a tablet for Christmas. The older one who's 7 is ready for one to use for homework and play maths (and other) games on. The younger one who's 4 likes to play CBeebies games and if I don't get one for her as well, we all know how they argue... Any dad's out there...

Project: Two storey/part single storey side and rear extensions

Agree with this, although at this point you can either argue with him or just get on with it yourself. With their being no skirting and empty rooms, you could easily sand/fill/paint the rooms yourself quickly. It will *^%% him off if you do it whilst he is there as well as he knows you'll be...
