    LG OLED 2023 Thread - A3, B3, C3, G3

The cynic in you might say that's because LG didn't NEED to increase brightness until Samsung came along with their QD-OLED. That's the simple reason you are seeing it now. The G3 increased brightness is purely down to an optical layer though, not from pushing the electronics any more (maybe...

    LG OLED 2023 Thread - A3, B3, C3, G3

Any more owners want to chime in on any issues or just how wonderful their new purchases are? I'm in the market for a 77" and it's a toss up between the A80K or the C3. I can get either for a very similar price. What say you?

    BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

All are houses and the road is actually the main road into the village. My house is a development of 3 houses on what used to be an orchid so its set back from the main road, built in what used to be someone's back yard sort of thing. As such the house numbers are "44B, 44C, 44D". Currently have...

    BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

So I've just discovered that if I enter my post code and choose any other house number but my own and the other 2 houses in my new build development I get the following: But for my own house number I get "Not yet available". What does this mean? Just some database error as my house is new? I...

    What TV? So undecided.

Is the ABL dimming thing something that really happens frequently enough to be annoying or much like the burn-in worry, it's not really a worry? What are people's thoughts on the professional calibration angle? Something worth doing?

    What TV? So undecided.

Hey all. In the market for a new TV. Currently have a 65" XF9005 which I love but I want something with VRR for the PS5. So I've narrowed it down to a 77" LG C2 (from Crampton & Moore, professionally calibrated) for ~£2800 or a Sony 75" X95K (for £2299). Completely different TV's and...

    Fitted Wardrobes

Small thread resurrection :p Just moved into a house and need some wardrobes. Would really like the floor to ceiling look but I measured it at 237CM. Is this enough space to build upright and with hinged doors? Or do I need to admit defeat and go with the smaller units? Edit: Might help to say...

Sky Stream - Launches *NOW* (post #1 for pricing / page #5 for pics)

The unknown of if it will work ok worries me. I will have ~65mbit internet and can connect it via ethernet but if the service itself is just rubbish or we don't get on with it can I go back to Q? Especially since they will want their 2TB box back and I don't feel like paying another £100 for...

Sky Stream - Launches *NOW* (post #1 for pricing / page #5 for pics)

I am moving house soon and would rather not have to have a dish put up (the angle of the house means the dish would look REAL unsightly in the position in needs to go in) and my contract still has 11 months to go. Any idea if Sky will move me to Stream without much fuss?

    The nervous wait to exchange....

Just got all the paperwork through from the solicitors for my purchase. It includes a bunch of land registry docs dating back to 2010. I assume this is to show the transfer of the land through time to where it is now? My house is a new build built on some subdivided property, so I assume this...

    The nervous wait to exchange....

So now that I've sold my house I need to pay back the loan. I am only on year 4 of the 5 year loan so I've not paid anything back thus far. I have had the valuation done and filled in the redemption application and paid the £200 application fee. Submitted it all I think it was Friday last week...

    The nervous wait to exchange....

Well we got it all resolved. Our buyer came up as much as they were able to and we accepted. It is what it is. We also received our mortgage offer this morning so everything should now be able to move forward smoothly (he says quite obviously tempting fate). Fingers crossed! Anyone have any...

    The nervous wait to exchange....

We've done as much as we are going to do with our onwards purchase. Unless our lenders valuation says otherwise! We've had a lot of discussions and thoughts today on things. Our buyers came back and said £320k is their max and we think we're going to take it. Mostly for your exact reasoning but...

    The nervous wait to exchange....

Our estate agent listed at £350k. I never thought it was worth that but I know less than nothing about the market or how anything in this space works. Accepted an offer at £333k. Friends of ours not far away with a similar house sold for £337k but all of their valuations and that went through...

    The nervous wait to exchange....

We are far down the road already with our onward purchase and things like that. I guess I just need to wait and see what the revised offer is. As you say they may share some of it with us or they may come in hard at the banks valuation. Time will tell.
