What film did you watch last night?

I think the last one I watched was Parasite (2019), which to be fair was good. We are also currently watching Shogun on Disney, so maybe we'll give a few more for foreign language films a try in the future. I quite fancy watching The Raid (2011), see if I can convince my wife she needs to...

What film did you watch last night?

Wife hasn't seen it and she picked it. Sorry, but I haven't seen the original. I find subtitles too distracting, so I rarely watch foreign language films.

What film did you watch last night?

The Ring (2002) Second time I've watched it since it was released and I still find it a bit dull. It's not particularly scary and I think Naomi Watt's performance almost falls in to over acting at time. Which is a shame, because I thinks she's good in every thing else I've seen her in. Not my...

What film did you watch last night?

Dogman (2023) Luc Besson film about a child who grows up with an abusive father who locks him up with the dogs he keeps for dog fighting. The dogs then protect him and become a sort of super power he uses to help people after he and the dogs are rescued. Quite a good film to be honest. 6/10

What film did you watch last night?

Civil War (2024) Starts off a bit slow, but still engaging enough for you to not switch off, but the second half is excellent. Not easy to watch at times with a very accurate portrail of armed conflict and the brutality and horror of war crimes. Jessie Plemons' cameo was just pure class. 8/10

    Three body Problem (2024)

Just finished this and I wasn't impressed at all. It felt more like a BBC production that anything that had a decent budget. Non of the characters are particularly interesting, most of the episodes are quite boring for most of their run time, the special effects are mostly rubbish and the...

What film did you watch last night?

Willy's Wonderland (2021) A Nicolas Cage film were he doesn't speak a word of dialogue, does some cleaning, fights and kills (serial killer possessed) animatronic characters, drinks pop, plays pinball while he waits for his car to be fixed, then leaves. Depending on you're perspective it's...

What film did you watch last night?

Hot Shots (1991) Not too bad, not as funny as I remember or maybe my sense of humour has matured more than the jokes. Unlikely, I can still get a laugh out of Naked Gun and Airplane. 5/10

What film did you watch last night?

Footloose (1984) A film that probably wouldn't get made if it was pitched today, let alone make 10 times it's budget. I don't have much nostalgia for it and thought it was a bit daft back in the day, but to my surprise my hadn't ever seen it so we gave it a watch yesterday afternoon. However...

What film did you watch last night?

Red Right Hand (2024) There's a few moments of tension from a couple of torcher scenes and ones that might make you wince a bit. Butt it's not going to win any awards for originality but a perfectly watchable film non the less. 5/10

The best car chases in films?

Wouldn't argue with anything mentioned so far. But I don't think the car chase in Mission Impossible Rogue Nation has been mentioned yet.

What film did you watch last night?

An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) Seen it a few times before over the years, but after Louis Gossett Jr died we wanted to watch it again. It's still a good film and has aged really well. 7/10

What film did you watch last night?

Rescue Dawn (2006) Christian Bale is tortured, probably for real with Werner Herzog directing. He also starves himself, not for the first time, to portray a real life prisoner of war shot down during the Vietnam war. I have to say, despite a bit of fun poking in the previous paragraph, it...

What film did you watch last night?

Green Room (2016) Thrilling, intense and brutal. Personally I wouldn't place it in the horror category, as it's gory in a Saw way and not particularly scary. Either way, I enjoyed it and thought it was a well made, fairly original film. 7/10

NVIDIA Shield TV Pro 2019 vs QLED/OLED Smart TV with Dolby Atmos

Not something I've tried but you could potentially use one of the USB 3 ports with a LAN adapter. I think there's a thread on here somewhere. Or just Google it.

What film did you watch last night?

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023) Having watched all the previous DC films, you feel like you have to watch them all (I still haven't seen Wonder Woman 1984). Even if non of them have been particularly good, some of them do have their moments. This one, however, is just a steaming pile of...

What film did you watch last night?

$90 million at the box office, so only made around double it's budget and so far his least profitable film.

NVIDIA Shield TV Pro 2019 vs QLED/OLED Smart TV with Dolby Atmos

Unless you are streaming full 4k UHD rips from a Plex server or similar then there's no point getting a Shield. The O/S on the Shield may feel snappier than even a new TV. But not to the point of spending over €200. The only thing that limits my current TV (2023 LG OLED) from streaming full...

What film did you watch last night?

Repo Man (1984) Black comedy that was probably more relevant when it was released than now and so doesn't have the impact it may have done. It raises a rye smile now and again, but it didn't really hold my interest throughout. Maybe if I'd seen it when it was originally released I may have had...

What film did you watch last night?

Roman Holiday (1953) Charming old black and white film that's very watchable, considering it's age and is quite funny in places. Almost Laurel & Hardy esque at times. 6.5/10
