1. It has been confirmed that in USA and Canada you're not breaking the warranty ... not sure if they've confirmed in the UK yet (but I was only £200 for the Eee so I can deal with that!) Laptop sodimm is what you need. DDR-2, 667 mhz (PC2-5300). Only one slot so get a single large stick. After...
Has any Eee owner, who has also installed XP onto their Eee, tried a usb digital tv stick? I assume there's no reason wny it shouldn't work ok?
Strikes me as being quite a useful portable tv device (as well as its other assets).

Major SATA problems that left me without a pc for 2 or 3 weeks.
I'm now running an old IDE drive just to keep the pc working.
I've lost faith in the board that I bought with a load of brand new kit, and I'm not making the most of that kit any more. Therefore, the board has to go!
I'm...
I've had major problems with my DS4 mobo and now want to replace it.
I have an E6600, and I need Firewire .... those are my only real requirements!
Would like to keep it below £75 if possible.
Cheers,
Chris
I'll see if I can access that directory ..... having to employ some data recovery software to try and rescue bits and pieces from the (now accidentally) formatted drive!

I built up the following pc about 3 weeks ago:
NEW BITS
C2D 6600 with stock cooler
Gigabyte DS4
2Gb Geil 6400 DDR2
Sapphire X1950 Pro 256Mb
Corsair HX 520W power supply
WD Caviar RE 160GB 1600YS SATA-II 16MB cache OEM
WD Caviar RE 250GB 2500YS SATA-II 16MB cache OEM
OLD BITS...
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
Oh god ....
Right. After 2 weeks of continuous problems I've ripped out both the SATA Western Digital drives and temporarily put an old Maxtor IDE drive in to load a stable WIndows build so I can post this message!
I have had hard drive related...
Wise words mate!
I was continually trying to install on the 160Gb drive. Thought I'd take that out and try installing on the 240Gb drive and (touch wood!) it seems to be working fine .....
Chris
I've just re-built my pc with the following spec:
C2D E6600 (with stock cooler)
2Gb Geil PC 6400 DDR2
Gigabyte DS4
2 WD sata drives (160Gb and 240Gb - both 7200rpm and both 16mb cache)
Corsair 520w power supply
Sapphire 256Mb Radeon X1950 Pro
Creative Audigy 2 ZS
Sony 52x52x32 CD-RW...
Now I've attached it (and don't really want to take it apart again!) can someone confirm that the stock Intel cooler has thermal pads on it?
I didn't get any arctic silver (I will if I get a better cooler) but just want to be sure that I'm not gonna burnout!
Thanks,
Chris
I have that monitor as my main screen mate (and I use a 26" Samsung for viewing from bed!)
As a main screen it's great, but I have noticed that viewing from extreme angles it's not great (but then why would you want to look at it from extreme angles anyway?? I'm sure that if it's pointing in...
I thought it was bad enough getting drivers for the 32-bit version at the moment, let alone the 64-bit???
I'm not sure I use any apps that would benefit from running on a 64-bit OS.
