Loft Stilts (Ok to walk on?)

It doesn't look like they come pre-drilled but will keep that in mind. I have some things that weigh around 15-20kg. I'm guessing that would be ok for semi-long term storage weight? Thanks.

    Water Softener

So to answer your questions. I drink it and it's fine. At first it had a slight taste difference but I don't really notice. We did fit a hard tap just incase people don't like it though. My American fridge freezer is fed by the softened water too. Tastes fine. Less limescale is great. My...

Loft Stilts (Ok to walk on?)

Hi all, Have a house that's 2 years old now and running out of storage so was looking to maximise the loft as much as I can so was looking at loft storage stilts much like - https://www.diy.com/departments/diall-loft-storage-stilt-pack-of-12/181925_BQ.prd Anyone had experience using these? I'm...

Drainage Plans - Developer Not Playing Ball

Nope, the bark was around it. It was always just sticking up out of the bark and was never covered.

Drainage Plans - Developer Not Playing Ball

Nope, as at least 5 others in the estate were told the same. "No visible drains on your property, as you can see from the plans, all of them are in the streets". That's exactly what we were all told.

Drainage Plans - Developer Not Playing Ball

The area around it was landscaped, and the drain has been "placed" on at an angle so it was about 2 inches higher than the ground and stuck out on one of the edges, we've now cleared the landscaped area as we are going to put slate down and can't because of the level and how they aren't fitted...

Drainage Plans - Developer Not Playing Ball

I was using a generalisation that I assumed most would understand, clearly not lol. Where does water run down your street? Down the road through the drain grate? No, you'd say it runs into the drain. I even spoke to 20 other people about this on a persimmon bashing group :D They all said "Yes...

Drainage Plans - Developer Not Playing Ball

Actually I said to them: "I believe these aren't meant to be here based on what your sales staff told me, so if that's the case, can you show me the plans and remove them. If that's not the case, can you show me the plans and fix them." Either way, no plans have been shown.

Drainage Plans - Developer Not Playing Ball

Wow this is hilarious. I was going to reply yesterday but thought I'd let this ride a little. Thanks for the comments ;) I'm still unsure as to how I can make this easier to understand. I'll try it in numbered bullet-points maybe. When buying the house, we were told there was NO drains visible...

Drainage Plans - Developer Not Playing Ball

Exactly that. Like this https://imgur.com/a/a4PBj Not quite sure why most didn’t get that. You can literally remove the whole surround and lid and just leave an empty cylindrical tube going into the ground. Pretty sure it’s mesnt to be secured in.

Drainage Plans - Developer Not Playing Ball

So to all the sarcastic people, you’re telling me that the top is fitted to the surround but this isn’t meant to be fitted to anything? What are you smoking?

Drainage Plans - Developer Not Playing Ball

Two issues, the first being that I was told there were no drains but can't prove it as the only ones with the plans showing it is the developer who won't let me see it. Probably because they know they are wrong. The second being that if they are meant to be there, they aren't actually installed...

Drainage Plans - Developer Not Playing Ball

You can literally take the two parts (lid and edge) and lift it up and walk away with it if you so wish. The ones I showed above you can literally lift up and wander off with them.

Drainage Plans - Developer Not Playing Ball

The drains on our property aren't actually fitted. You can simply come along the side of our house and remove the lid and walk off with them. We have no idea where it goes as we have no plans to see. These are the drains in question (inspection chambers): Spoke to NHBC again and they...

Drainage Plans - Developer Not Playing Ball

Hi all, I was going to put this into home but it's more of a legal issue than anything I'd say, but feel free to move it if necessary. We bought a house off plan from Persimmon and got the keys on 9th May 2016. Word of advice, never buy a house from them, they are crooks. When we bought the...

Find me a 120d (and price mine)

So I've bought the 2015 white one subject to viewing and a test drive. Got it for £17,650 in the end which I was happy about to be honest. Will be making the drive next week to potentially pick it up.

Find me a 120d (and price mine)

I didn't say 60k vs 17k. I said 17k less. It was 49,000 and turns out ours is 63,000 so 14k less but no where near the same spec as ours.

Find me a 120d (and price mine)

Still looking but this one (http://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/1-Series/2.0TD-120d-M-Sport-xDrive-4X4-190bhp/Hereford/4159544-606343862-3497038.aspx?srcmdc=se_na_re_) is standing out due to the spec. They said they have a couple of hundred £'s to play with but not much more. Also offered me £7000 for...

Find me a 120d (and price mine)

It doesn't have to be I guess, but living in a tiny village that's pretty cut off, I thought that it may be handy and my partner has never experienced a RWD car, let alone in the wet. She's only been driving 3 years and has a FWD focus 1.6 and then the Kuga AWD.
