I just dropped a 1060 into an older Linux rig and it has given it a new lease of life. Can't really tell it is an older rig when running games or Blender or anything OpenCL for that matter.
Weather sealing, magnesium body, higher shutter speed, control layout, speed of use,...
I personally would opt for the D300 or second hand D2Xs (if high ISO usage is not on your list).
Dan.
I quite like the look of it.
I would be concerned with regards to the weather sealing. The camera is made using 5 elements 'stuck' together. This, to me, would raise concerns with regards to its strength and ability to stay sealed over the many years it would be used in the hands of an...
You don't need to be shooting at 1/500, even for fast jets. a lot of the time 1/250 and even lower works just fine and I am sure your panning technique after 30 years of aviation photography is good enough to cope with using slower shutter speeds.
Not going to argue with you but I suppose it...
You'd be surprised.
Good advise from ^^Gord^^. He is a very good aviation photographer. As mentioned stay clear of IS/VR for fast moving objects. Helicopters would be fine though. Personally I would recommend using Manual exposure mode, all day, every day, every show. You have complete control...
They lack clarity and are fairly underexposed. Though sunset, the white balance is off as there is a noticeable orange tint. Perhaps a custom white balance card or expodisc (warm) filter would have helped to achieve a more subtle balance.
I always say this, shooting aviation (airborne) is a lot...
Does the above motherboard support DDR3? I know in the specification it says it only supports DDR2 but I have seen a few reviews where DDR3 is being used? It was probably a typo on behalf of the review no doubt, but just want to see what you guys thought. The board is going into a customers...
The FireGL V5600 is based on the RV630 core. It is designed to be used in CAD/DCC applications and therefore provides better all round performance compared to their gaming counterparts. Gaming cards do work but they are not streamlined for this environment. You'd be surprised at how much slower...
Good evening,
Just a quick question, I would like to run both a FireGL V5600 and a Radeon 4870 in the same machine using a 790FX chipset. Is this possible? Assuming I would need two monitors?
The reason is that I am in need of reducing the amount of systems in my office. Currently running...
Would you not consider a non stabilized lens? The Sigma 100-300 f4 is sharp if not sharper than the 300 f4 by Canon. (waits for abuse). Have a look at the photozone.de reviews site for proof if need be. A good bit of practice will compensate for IS i believe.
Just my opinion, sure to be...
Only take them at f1.8 if your focusing is rock solid as the narrow DOF will be diffcult to work with with moving subjects.
Obviously just my opinion, better off usin f2.8.
King.
