Apparently not, I have read a test that says it is barely noticable on a 50" TV and unoticable on a 42" TV. I don't have that particular TV I have a very old Panasonic model without HD and am looking at the upgrade myself, a friend however does have it and its very impressive, even with SD content.

Any idea on a budget? If 1080p is not important the Panasonic TH42PX80 is a sound investment and in relative terms its a bargain.
