Hi ArchitectUK Done that mate still got a few stutters , went into VLC and increased the cache size to 3000 and all is fine now no stutters at all. Cant seem to find any other solution at moment but thanks for your advice.

Hi Can anyone please advise what is causing all media files I play to stutter on my new laptop ? Its a Sony Vaio vgn-cs11z and I have tried to play files in wmp and vlc and get slight stutters , installed the vista codecs and a complete new fresh install of vista home premium 32bit. thanks

Well :confused: Its a choice between this or the new Samsung Q210 or Q310 as I will not be gaming on this laptop at all got my main PC for that. It will only be used for surfing the web , itunes , and maybe watching the odd movie or two along with normal work related issues and a few photos...
