    Platypus' Beginners Guide to Running

I’m with Blyth. I opted for first leg so I didn’t have to worry about spotting team mates, or getting lapped! :D

    Platypus' Beginners Guide to Running

You’re fairly local to me, I did the Terry O’Gara 5K and Gordon Smith Relays (1st leg) too. Well done, and good luck with the Cancer Run and Clive Cookson.

I made some things out of rubbish

I don't post here anymore, but lurk quite a bit. Remember reading through your Robocain thread. Received up my dog today (was actually delivered yesterday, but couldn't pick it up) - really, really happy with it, even better than I expected! :)

    Big Bike Thread

Love mine, climbs better than my old FSR XC, and descends even better. Slightly porky for an AM bike though. Very confidence inspiring, feels like it can blast through anything. So much so, I dislocated my shoulder in May :( As varial says, the internal cables can rattle a bit.

    Book find

Can't help with the police books, but the guy who wrote that has a blog - http://mattdelito.wordpress.com/ I started reading it after it was featured on gizmodo.

    Big Bike Thread

Cheers! I would have preferred the blue of the 2012 bikes, but couldn't find one in medium. I think the lock out is only for wheel removal. The lock is quite basic, you move the cage forward and then push the lock pin out, which stops the cage moving back. In normal operation the clutch stops...

Just got myself a new bike, Commencal Meta AM 2. Loving the type 2 rear mech, makes the bike virtually silent.

Official iPad (2012 model) Accessories Thread

Ordered a skin for the back from here after reading a few reviews. I went for the type 1 in brushed aluminium, $22 shipped from the states. Currently have a Belkin trifold folio which isn't bad, but I'm fairly careful with my gear and wanted something with a bit less bulk.

******* The "official" Essential iPad Apps thread (with stars) *******

Carcassone - not new, but an excellent boardgame. Bit pricy at £6.99, but it's a great example of how to do an app right. Rules are quite simple, but there's a lot of depth to it. Recently updated for retina as well... Had to charge the iPad half way through a game, I liked how it seamlessly...

    Norton needs Renewing

Some banks provide free licences for AV, for instance Barclays give you Kaspersky Internet Security. Could be worth checking if your mum's bank does...

Battlestar Galactica (now containing quite minor spoilers)

Don't know if this is much help, but battlestargalactica.com has episode guides, with some comments from the producers. Also a few interviews too.

*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

If you're not bothered about push notifications, you can turn notifications off. That will turn wifi off when it's in sleep mode, makes a big difference. I also switch 3G off while I'm somewhere with a wifi connection.

    iPhone 4 Insurance?

Is this through a bank account, or a separate insurance policy? I've just registered mine through an additions account, and it doesn't mention a £250 limit:confused: Well, it does, but that is for phone accessories.

It was the first thing that sprung to mind, nearly caught me out. Hope you get it up and running soon.

Check your serial number is only 19 digits. The first 6 are automatically entered (894411), but that last number 1 is the first digit from the next block of 5. Don't know if that makes any sense?

    Do you like elephants?

:D Much lollage ensued! Q: After crossing the Alps, what was the last thing Hannibal said to his army before getting off their elephants? A: "Men, get off your elephants"

    3D Sketchbook thread?

The Spitfire and Ferrari were done with Lightwave 7, the phone was done with a trial version of Modo. Modo was pretty intuitive to use after Lightwave, the modelling tools are very similar. Cheers Firthy! It only shows the front because I never finished the rest before the demo expired:o

    3D Sketchbook thread?

Some good stuff in here. Here's a few things I've done over the years. Never seem to complete anything though:( Spitfire, can't remember the exact version. Found some more detailed plans recently, might go back and redo it sometime: Ferrari 360: Sony Ericsson W880i:

    Sking/Snowboarding 09/10

Cheers, we decided to chance it anyway, and you were correct!:) Lift queue wasn't very long, but damn, it's an evil lift! Start area is on a slope, so you start to slide back when you put your back foot on the board. Then, the tension builds until you're launched forwards at a fair rate. At this...

Canada - Rocky Mountains Roadtrip - Car hire/advice

For nightlife in Jasper, I'd recommend the D'ed Dog, Downstream, and there's Atherbies (nightclub at the Athabaca hotel). The latter two don't seem to get busy until around midnight though.
