entered in 4-4-4-12 + 2.2v in the BIOS options restarted and now its not looking good. time to figure out how to reset the cmos :) thank god for the reset cmos button at the back ! back to 667mhz and working.

hi chaps. thank you for the tips. I am all up and running after adjusting the memory settings to run at 667mhz instead of default (800mhz i think) i will have a play and try and get the ram to work :)

well i swapped cables/ports/hard drives/media/dvd drives around and i seem to get nasty BSOD at any point of an early windows install. Or the install will simply hang. I have got as far as copying files once and then a BSOD with some random stop error. Being a useless bios/overclocking person...

seems windows wont install on my lovelly new build. now spending the day trying to figure out what the problem is :) media/dvd rom/hard drive/cables.. a fun time of swapping everything ahead :)
