    24 inch monitor for ps3 + pc

If you race more on the PC then buy a monitor. If you will be racing more on your PS3 then buy an LCD TV so you can output it perfectly at *768 or *1080. You can always use your LCD TV as a monitor by running a custom resoultion on the PC to match the native res of your TV.

    White pixel means it's dead?

Trying to decide whether to try and revive it but no point if a white pixel is considered dead (sucessful revival would mean i have a zombie pixel  )

    Samsung 2232BW and motion.

i just need to scroll at just above normal speeds to get it. I've owned 8ms and 16ms lcds b4 and neve really noticed this, even tho this monitor looks and feels smoother. Very strange. Might have a word with Samsung technical support then..

    32" HDTV for gaming?

Sorry, my bad. I've done a little research into HDTVs and it seems that the Samsungs and Sonys are leading the way. Can't go wrong with either really. I've seen the Sony Bravia 1080 range first hand and i was very impressed, so i'd recommend it. Will set you back around 700 for 32".

    PS3 @ 1680*1050?

I've tried GTA4 on the 360 on my 22" Samsung and although it's decent it's not sharp enough. I've learned my lesson that lcd monitors should not be used for console gaming. I'm on the look out for an lcd tv so i can match the resolutions my PS3 and 360 output at.

    32" HDTV for gaming?

You are better off with an with an lcd tv as the 360 doesn't output at 1920*1200. Your monitor will have to scale to match the resolution the 360 is outputting meaning you get a less than sharp picture. My samsung does a half decent job of scaling but it's not good enough for me so i'm on the...

    Samsung 2232BW and motion.

I purchased this monitor a couple of weeks ago and have been reasonably happy with it, even if it does have a little backlight leakage and one dead pixel. The perfromance in fast games is very decent, as in it's nice and smooth but objects seem to leave behind a ghost image that catches up with...

    PS3 @ 1680*1050?

I'm looking to plug a PS3 into my 22" monitor but i'm a tad worried about how it will scale the games. Anyone experienced this first hand and care to comment on the results? I'm really looking to play GTA4 on my Samsung monitor rather than having to go out and buy an LCD TV. TIA.

BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

Anyone have some info. in regard to input lag? At this moment and time i'm considering the Samsung SM-2232BW, which i hope is as fast as the 226BW was. If the OCUK 24" compares well then i might consider it. Thx.

PS3/360 - LCD monitor or TV?

I really wanted a monitor that can do it all but i've come to the conclusion that i'm better off buying an LCD TV for the consoles and a 24" monitor for PC stuff. Will hit me hard in the pocket but is there any alternative? Hyundai W240D-PVA 24" is the only monitor that has come close to...

BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

I must admit, this monitor has me tempted. Seems really good value for money. Anyone had bad luck with dead/stuck pixels and had more than one or is the quality control good with these panels? TIA.

    samsung 245b - gaming

I doubt most are gaming at those resolutions. To get rid of tearing, when you have vsync off, you need to up the refresh rate but LCDs only do 60hz and that's the problem your experiencing. If the game has a frame limit then lower it and see how it effects the tearing. I think you'll find below...

Hyundai W240D: TN or PVA panel?

So i decided a while ago that i was getting a 240D but now that i'm actually about to order one i need to decide what panel to go for. Not a great deal of difference in price but since i'm going to be using it mostly for gaming, i'm beginning to wonder if buying the PVA panel with have any...

    Hyundai W240D The best choice

Yeah, good advice ademcg. At the end of the day the W240D ticks all the boxes. It has component for the Wii, VGA for the PC/XBOX360 and HDMI for a PS3 (if i ever get one). Any minimal backlight leakage it has i'll just have to live with. The only choice i have now is whether to go for a £600...

    Hyundai W240D The best choice

Great work gt_junkie, just what this thread needed. TBH my first impression was that it looks very acceptable because i also have seen much worse. If i had went ahead and bought the TFT then i would have been happy with that. My first TFT, 3-4 years ago, had bleed that came down a full 2 inches...

    Hyundai W240D The best choice

Good to hear :D A picture of the screen displaying a black background (with the lights in the room turned off) That way any bad backlight leakage will become apparent. Some screens are worse than others but if it's not too bad then i'm ordering one asap. Thanks in advance to anyone who...

    Hyundai W240D The best choice

Following this one closely. I've been on the fence in regard to buying another LCD for close to 2 years now. This 19" CRT has done me ok during that time but i've been looking for an LCD for my XBOX360 for a while now and this seems to be the ticket. If anyone can take a few pictures of the...
