    ^ in fairness to Smith, Ty Dillon was a wrecking ball. Maldonado would be proud :p Cup race at the Glen was pretty good, at least in the second half. Running out of fuel in the last corner is about as dramatic as you can get.

    The field's been 26 before, it's more linked to increased reliability than anything else. Even then you had one-off non-points results determining where Caterham\Marussia\HRT finished in the championship for a few years.

    Sad news, but perhaps expected given the lack of improvement cited by his father. There were several factors involved in the crash, including the way the FIA handles yellow flag enforcement and wet weather running...but we've already had 9 months to discuss that.

    Not to that extreme, but with the banking as it is there's no real difference between the start and end of a fuel run. It can happen at slower speeds as well (Dover has seen a couple of examples in recent years). As far as driver safety is concerned, I'd be more worried about European single...

    Was a pretty good race, shame Kurt lost ground on the last pitstop exchange, he was the fastest of the 3-stoppers to my recollection. Unfortunately the #48 team couldn't make their conservation strategy work.
